I've played this 'classic' video back several times over the past couple of years. It says a whole load about GH and his passion about Greatland Gold and Havieron in particular, from the start, when many people and the market just didn't GET IT!.

It's just before the Newcrest J/V, but, it's in FEBRUARY, 2019!!

IMHO, the market STILL just don't GET IT!

The anticipated acceleration in gold merger and acquisition activity is underway and has prompted big moves on the TSX Venture Exchange.

GT Gold (TSXV: GTT) reached an all-time high yesterday, closing up 59.7% to C$3.21 on news of Newmont's all-cash acquisition at $3.25 per share, a 38% premium to GT's 20-day VWAP.

GT put the total equity value of the transaction at $456 million on a fully diluted basis, while Newmont put the cash consideration at $393 million.

Interestingly Newmont, which already held about 15% of the explorer focused on its Tatogga project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle, was at pains to point out it acknowledged Tahltan consent was necessary to advance the project.

In a joint statement, Tahltan Central Government (TCG) president Chad Norman Day said TCG looked forward to working with Newmont "in a respectful, meaningful and mutually beneficial way".

Separately, Discovery Harbour Resources (TSXV: DHR) jumped a similar amount, closing up 55.5% to 7c on news Australian gold major Newcrest Mining could pay up to US$31.5 million and complete a PEA to earn 75% of its Fortuity 89 early-stage project in Nevada.

Shaun Day better be careful because he used at least three today alone, "Stunning", "Outstanding" & "World Class"!

He better be careful because, as we all know, there will be numerous more times that they'll all be required going forward!

Greatland Gold establishing new targets outside of Havieron deposit

Greatland Gold (AIM:GGP) reported on Thursday “outstanding” results from the company’s Havieron deposit in the Paterson region of Western Australia.

In addition, the company confirmed its JV partner, Newcrest, is on track with its growth programme for the coming year at Havieron with 65km of drilling up to 30 June to test potential extensions to the resource shell.

The company’s best results include 196.1 metres at 1.7 grammes a tonne (g/t) gold and 0.28% copper from a depth of 545.9 metres and 97 metres at 3.9g/t gold and 0.50% copper. Another of the drill results showed 169.5 metres at 3.4g/t gold and 0.33% copper, including 3.1 metres where the gold grade was as high as 95g/t.

Greatland Gold announced via a statement that its latest high-grade drilling results “provide additional confidence of both geological and grade continuity within the existing resource shell”.

The results support the delivery of an Indicated Mineral Resource estimate in the South East Crescent Zone and adjacent Breccia Zones.

The AIM-listed company also established priorities for its 2021 drilling programme.....

2021 growth programme on track to test potential extensions to resource shell

Greatland Gold plc (AIM:GGP), the precious and base metals exploration and development company, is pleased to provide an update on the drilling campaign at the Havieron deposit in the Paterson region of Western Australia. The Company notes the release of an ASX announcement titled " Exploration Update" by Newcrest Mining Ltd ("Newcrest") earlier today.

Drilling activities since the last report have been primarily focused on infill drilling of the South East Crescent and Breccia Zone. This infill drilling was conducted to support the delivery of an Indicated Mineral Resource estimate in the South East Crescent Zone and adjacent Breccia Zones.

Assay results for a total of 26 new drill holes have been received since the last update (28 January 2021) and are reported here today, with all holes intersecting mineralisation.

Highlights

-- Excellent Results from Infill Drilling:
o Latest high-grade drilling results provide additional confidence of both geological and grade continuity within the existing resource shell .

o This supports the delivery of an Indicated Mineral Resource estimate in the South East Crescent Zone and adjacent Breccia Zones.

-- 2021 Growth Drilling Programme: The 2021 growth drilling programme priorities are:
o North West Crescent and Northern Breccia: Growth drilling programme will initially focus on the North West Crescent and Northern Breccia zone and is aimed at providing support for the potential expansion of the existing Inferred Mineral Resource estimate.

o Eastern Breccia: Drill testing and interpretation of the geological and mineralisation controls of the Eastern Breccia Zone is ongoing.

o South East Crescent and Breccia: Targeting potential resource definition of extensions below the existing resource shell and lateral extensions adjacent to the existing high-grade resource shell .

o New Targets: New targets outside of the immediate vicinity of the Havieron deposit, but within the Havieron Joint Venture area, have been identified with the potential to conduct drill testing of these targets in the future.

-- Early Works Underway: As announced on 21 January 2021, earthmoving activities to prepare for the construction of the box cut and decline have commenced. Excavation of the box cut commenced on 8 February 2021. Work continues to investigate the potential to achieve commercial production at Havieron within three years of the commencement of the box cut and decline.....

An “unprecedented” flow of cash into the high-risk mineral exploration sector has sparked a drilling boom that is causing huge backlogs at the laboratories whose assays determine success or failure.

More than $2.2 billion flowed into the 656 pre-revenue explorers on the ASX in the final three months of 2020, in a result that was 72 per cent higher than average and was described by advisory firm BDO as “unprecedented”....

....The laboratory backlog is even more severe in Western Australia, where the state government was last month forced to extend a deadline for Rio Tinto to submit waste rock samples from its Hope Downs 4 iron ore mine because there was no prospect that laboratories in the state would be able to assay the samples before July.....

....Drilling company DDH1 Limited listed on the ASX on Tuesday and has its fleet of 96 rigs booked almost solid for the rest of calendar 2021.

DDH1 founder Murray Pollock said mining companies and explorers were starting to panic-book rigs the way households had hoarded toilet paper in the early stages of the pandemic.

“The demand is enormous, we just cannot keep up,” he said.

“I think there is a bit of panic out there and perhaps some companies are booking up rigs [because] they know they have to get in there, but they might not know exactly what they are going to do with them.

“Once that starts it is a bit like the pre-COVID toilet paper rush.”

DDH1 has drilled holes 2000 metres deep at Newcrest Mining and Greatland Gold’s Havieron project in WA and 2500 metres deep at BHP’s Oak Dam in South Australia.....

"Scallywag’s first seven holes are clearly not what we wanted" OK, presumption aside, but how can you even use the word "clearly" when we haven't even had the final four assays. I just find it totally negative, in the extreme, especially when the final results, in total, would be just an initial stage in exploration of a tenement anyway.

Anyway, let's leave it at that, and agree to differ, as that's how I see it at this point in time, and I doubt you'll change your negative bias viewpoint.

Such negativity bias, but apologies if I read your post wrongly. As I've said before, and as most people who've invested in mining exploration stocks know so well, even if we don't hit anything better in the next four Scallywag assays, the drill data is essentially a 'sighter' going forward, giving very valuable information as to where we need to drill next.

I just wish that some investors in Greatland Gold would actually appreciate what mining exploration is all about, rather than expecting that the next, 'once in a generation, or more' Havieron, is going to be repeated immediately elsewhere!

I'd like to think so too redleader. Let's not forget that Havieron was passed over by more than one company before GH had the balls to dig deep, and look where we are now.

I wish Gervaise Heddle all the very best for the future, whatever he decides to do. It was largely his infectious enthusiasm about the company and it's potential, that initially gave rise to me buying my first shares, and which continued to prompt me to top up over the past 3 years or so, despite the market not 'understanding' at times, and the regular negative troll comments. What's really new now in that respect! He'll be a hard act to follow for Shaun Day, but that's not a negative, just my praise for GH and all he's done for us all. TT

Greatland Gold (AIM:GGP), the precious and base metals mineral exploration and development company, today announced its interim results for the six months ended 31 December 2020.

At the Havieron project, the company delivered its initial Mineral Resource estimate and secured $50m of development funding.

Greatland’s upcoming 2021 exploration season will focus on a “three-pronged strategy” in the Peterson region, according to a statement released by the company on Monday.

The company also confirmed it is well capitalised to push forward with exploration programmes in 2021 with cash equivalents of £5.9m.

Greatland Gold is finalising plans to conduct further exploration across the company’s 100% owned licences (Scallywag, Rudall, Canning) in the highly prospective Paterson region.
