Speedie, - when calculating your figures, do be aware that the miner -NCM - do not receive the spot price of gold. They sell to the bullion bank / broker who also takes his cut. I do not know how much but $1700 spot will probably only get the miner around $1500.

Am a long time GGP investor, and PUR seems to have some similar characteristics. Stable country, pouring gold by the year end, some excellent exploration prospects, encouraging drill results, substantial Market Cap, good SP trends.
Not a very busy chat board though.
Any general thoughts on the future ??

In this brief hiatus whilst we all await the next batch of hot news in the next 24 hours, I am giving some consideration to possibly spreading some of my investment risk ......... but still in GOLD
Have been taking a look at PUR ( Pur Gold Mining ) , a canadian company, seemingly wellfinanced, Newmont / Sprott supported, and about to " pour " its first Red Lake Mine gold this coming December. It has had an impressive SP rise in recent times - now up to around 80p. Also doing some energetic drilling in what reads as Canadas " paterson " equivalent.
My instinct tells me that when it pours first gold, it will see its price rising significantly into that event.
The LSE chatboard for PUR is not one 50th of this one, but the info reads well.
Anyone have any background , info , cautions , caveats , etc on PUR , ..... at this stage just out of general interest.
If GGP flew up to 40p tomorrow, then I might just extract £50 for an initial probing investment.
Apologies to chat about rival company on this GGP board , but not much else to contribute at the moment.

CTC Pure semantics
A return on an investment may be both capital gain, or revenue. The return is still however a profit on the transaction.
And gain / profit can be any %age . £100 becomes £110 is a 10% gain / profit. Becomes £300 and is a 200% gain / profit.
Cost expressed as a %age of total gain / increased return will ALWAYS be less than 100%.

I intend to contact the S.o.t.R.. asap, advise them we will have a group, try and pre-book an outside , sub parasol table ( or tables ) in their beautiful Wey riverside garden, arrange for an array of nibbles bowls plus a bottle( s ) of prosecco and glasses, so any new arrival will have little difficulty in identifying the event.

The start of what we all hope will be a momentous week , in these difficult , amazing, and tricky times. I can only reflect that anyone listed on Hydros magnificently concocted list , whom, despite any individual problems that life might have thrown at them , should count themselves fortunate that they are on this GGP list.Life changing is a word that comes to mind.
Gazman,- you are among quite a large number of recent No. 1 contributors , but have been avid readers . You pay me a nice compliment, in listing me amongst a list of those whom I generally look up to for their erudite hard work. Other than Paddy and Magic, the boffins who head that illustrious Hydro list, there are too many to mention , but we all know who they are. ( apologies for not naming all )
SJM321, another No.1 this morning , refers to the strength of the wolfpack; very deep and very true. And lots more.
I am a long time holder, but these last 4/5/6 months have been an extraordinary experience for me with what I can only perceive as close but as yet unmet relationship with friends. Hope the eventual Stag on the River meet will glue some of that together in person.
I also observe that recently we no longer have the personal abuse/ criticism/ irritation. In lockdown , this board has been for me ( and I suspect for many others ) a unique experience in my very long investing career ( As a babe in arms I used to discuss investing with my bank manager father whilst still at the breast, as my mother played bridge - my other lifelong love. My fathers best man was a co-founder of one of the UKs leading stockbrokers ). I feel part of an investment family, all very close, and who through the fortune of good luck, fate , research, persistence, have found and mined a rich vein of gold, and in the next 12 to 24 months are going to be richly rewarded. ( Hydros list will surely rank with the regularly published annual Rich List ).
In lockdown, the board has made the potentially boring days pass like lightening, given me a small but hopefully useful role in life and provided an interesting and engaging target .
And we are only just on the start line.
Forgive my reflections. I am in awe of many of you, but my instinct tells me that I am not alone. I wish all LTH's and refreshingly so many recent No.1's an exciting next few months.

It is not a question of IF they hit gold in Scallywag..... as we know there is gold there. Only a question of how much , how deep, how extensive, how many g. Per ton. So we need drilling to begin, and patience whilst the results come in. Big as , bigger, or much bigger than Hav.
We will see

Mushroom, - I am transmogrified at the potential lack of faith that you have in your fellow board members. When you arrive at the Stag ( and there is some discussion that some pubs may well be opening in July ) , your seat in the corner will have been reserved, But you will get a free drink sent over.
It does rather sound as though we may have to limit attendances only to pre-booked seats.

We all like to hypothesize and dream.
As yet, the hard measurements are yet to be independently established. Havieron is worth nothing if no-one digs the gold out of the ground. I was a SXX holder in a big way, and planned to ride the train until they extracted the Polyhalite, - and the share price would have taken SXX into the Footsie 100 . I would have been rich. Fraser blew me to pieces, and Anglo Am will now sit on their cheap , but well known value asset , in the ground until it suits them to collect their rewards.
Despite the fact that we all more or less know there is a lot of gold in havieron, we do not know how much. Next week we may get some guidance. I have rarely known any company ( or 2 ) where the CEOs wax lyrical about the potential, where all of the known assay results indicate a huge resource, - but as yet we do not know that it will be mined.
Research indicates what a resource of this ??? 10 / 20 / 30 / 50 / ???? might be roughly worth to buy on the open market , and we can all do enthusiastic calculations -60% / 70% / 75% . Realistic values will give us 25p plus and probably a lot more, but that will only happen based on hard data. I am patient and will wait for nthe CEOs to sort out the next steps.
And of course there is then Scally and Blackhills and Tasmania, and............. They are all still awaiting fertilisation. That is the massive potential value of GGP still to be released.
But we aint that far off having some good hard info that will provide a real SP uplift.
My bet is that NCM will soon do a very good deal ( cash ) with GH for Havieron, - possibly some gentlemans agreement on Scally if it becomes Hav. 2; we will all remain GGP shareholders , and go through all of this agony again over the next 2 years , before we become trillionaires. GH will do a special divi to his loyal band whilst retaining enough cash in the company to cover the next few years exploration.
I will not be complaining.

Panama - correct that it was me who relayed ( and only relayed ) info that I was genuinely given by a very good friend, with a connected brother in W. Oz. I cannot certify total accuracy in any way, but be assured that it was not concocted. My faith, and a very significant shareholding in GGP is such that I do not need to exaggerate any facts at all. I trust that forthcoming asssay results will underline the immensity of the deposit.
