XPB: Care to elaborate. The only info I have is the RNS statement of 16 Dec - "Velocys plc (VLS.L) is pleased to announce the appointment of Panmure Gordon (UK) Limited as nominated adviser and joint corporate broker to the Company, and Shore Capital Stockbrokers Limited as joint corporate broker, both with immediate effect." Appointing a merchant bank that specialises in providing independent advice, research and execution services to UK small and mid-cap corporates and investment companies (to quote from their web site) would seem entirely appropriate for Altalto in its present circumstances.
XPB: What prompted the question??
Two inputs from Shapps, the second of which (circa 35.20) includes a clear statement to "grease the wheels" of decarbonising aviation ( IMHO a clear indication that HMG is prepared to offer funding (how much is another matter) and stresses the importance of the Jet Zero council. All pretty positive as I see it.
I don't actually know when the F4C monies are due, but I would strongly suspect from my own investigations that the payment is dependent on the results of FEED, which has to confirm viability. As HMG is also due to make a statement on SAF in March, it makes sense to delay the F4C payment until after that too.
stiralot: A fact is a statement that can be proven true or false. An opinion is an expression of a person's feelings that cannot be proven. Opinions can be based on facts or emotions and sometimes they are meant to deliberately mislead others. QED!
Stiralot: Do try and source some tuition to allow you to express yourself in decipherable terms. Punctuation is obviously a missing skill set, as is a spell checker! BBC are currently running home tuition programs for primary schools which might be of benefit.
Abramovich/Ervington have been a major shareholder for years - ISTR that they were in when I first bought shares back in 2014 and the SP >£1. Their holding in terms of shares has remained pretty constant, the recent %age fall was because they did not participate in the share offer so that their %age dropped with the issuing of the extra shares although the number of shares they held remained constant. Given RA's Russian connection there have been suggestions that the interest reflects an interest by Russia, but this has never been proved.
Stiralot . The ability to read and absorb facts correctly is obviously not in your skill set , together with the basics of English Grammar
Most people on this board appreciate verifiable facts presented in decent English rather than unsubstantiated drivel presented in poorly syntaxed and ungrammatical quasi English oh, and you overlooked the promised FEED results when you suggested no news likely before March.
Yesterday the last five minutes of trading generated a lot of large trades,( 2.2 million buys, 1.14 million sells) or roughly 25% of the total day's trading. The SP moved from 7.08 to 6.92 in the same period despite buys being twice as large as sales. Is somebody playing games, I wonder? Very interested to see which way the SP goes on Monday as such big purchases/sales at the end of the week doesn't make a lot of sense unless there is something us poor PIs are not aware of.
Further research suggests that Shell and Enerkem are very much "in bed together" on this, and not only in the Netherlands, which goes a long way towards explaining their decision re Altalto:
https://www.shell.com/energy-and-innovation/new-energies/new-energies-media-releases/shell-invests-in-quebecs-first-waste-to-low-carbon-fuels-plant.html
I was, in fact, thinking of this project, which does not include Shell (afaik).
https://www.greenaironline.com/news.php?viewStory=2598
The Shell statement " focus our resources on other lower-carbon fuels opportunities which leverage our own technology" suggests a conflict of interest. Moreover, if memory serves, Shell are also involved in a Dutch initiate with KLM near Rotterdam with similar objectives, and they are a Dutch company!
As an aside, it is noteworthy that two of the 5 members of the BoD, Phillip Holland and Darran Messem, are former Shell employees, which might suggest that the parting was on amicable terms.
It isn't. See previous thread on this subject.
I was merely correcting inaccurate assertions related to the source reference that started this thread. We all know that Velocys PR is next to non-existent. Your assertion suggests that the malaise has spread to the BoD. What is required is a modicum of belief and a lot of patience.
Agreed. But that was not the point Wareborn was making and he definitely excluded Lanzetech, as I described, during the Q&A segment of the lecture. The F4C issue is entirely unrelated to the point I was trying to make.
Suggest you have another listen. In the Q&A, Wareborn clearly states that there are only 3 companies in the world wide field for the waste to SAF technology, and that Lanzatech is NOT one of them. He doesn't name the other two companies but clearly indicates that VLS is one of the three.
XPB: It pains me to say this but I absolutely agree with you on this issue. I have viewed/listened to the Wareborn lecture quoted (somethng to do during lockdown!) and, whilst he does refer to Lanzatech in response to a question from the floor, he at no time suggests that Velocys is supplying anything to Lanzatech. As you say, the Lanzatec process has nothing to do with FT. The latter part of the lecture (questions from the floor), BTW, provides a clear view of how Velocys sees itself in terms of the development of the waste to SAF process and is well worth listening to.
Interesting. I can't find anything on site location and the only partner on their web site would appear to be KLM - the Dutch equivalent to BA - who actually founded the company. It would seem to be a private company with only one external shareholder so it is impossible to get an idea of its financial status. No details on potential funding other than the 20million euros from the EU (which equates to the F4C grant) , so it would appear to be in a similar position to Velocys.
