Cynderlad -
think that's a great post you've written earlier. A genuine understanding into how these guys think and the reality of the situation when they are put under pressure to make a decision. But we will see what tomorrow brings. And lets be honest - Counsellor Bacon looks like a right smug git. His expression reminds me of someone that drives a Hybrid off South Park. See "SMUG ALERT" episode for more details. If the IOW planners have recommended Arreton approval on the basis of an initial 3 year contract, I don't see why people can't just be pragmatic in the context of UK energy requirements. There are serious global initiatives in place to tackle global warming, which this would have zero impact on. Moreover, Outstanding Areas of Natural Beauty that some of these snowflakes have mentioned in island complaints are heavily conserved and protected. UKOG are not going to affect them. Also lets face it, there's sod all to do in Arreton - probs got a couple of decent pubs that would come in handy during this relatively small scale exploration and for any of the weirdos on twitter.
