I see maths is not your strong point, reading an RNS also , Tesco has stated they will be returning £5 billion to shareholders via a special dividend now there is almost 10 billion shares in issue so simple maths £1 a share dividend is £10 billion so 50p a share is £5 billion “ simples” for someone who has been invested in here for over 25 years and with well over 70k of shares just sold I find it quite odd your not that well informed as I would be picking through results , debt pile and liabilities with a tooth pick ! Obviously if we buy and sell shares it’s entirely are own decisions. You’ll find diamonds and you ll get dogs, good luck with hemo.
Now pensioners and the deficit now yes the poor sods ( I say poor the old Tescos pensioners our on good old final Salary Pensions enjoyed the long lost perks of old plus they didn’t have to borrow 5 times their salary to get on the housing ladder maybe lucky is the word)they need to get paid for there hard work in the past, but if we go back to the past when the pension deficit was bigger and they kept on paying out dividends of up to £1.4 billion at one point , I remember them increasing the dividend while the deficit ballooned like labour not fixing the roof they should have fixed this in the past. Then we may have gotten 80p a share ! :-)

Dave lewis has sold quite a few chunks of the Tesco empire off Fresh and easy “ well the yanks will look after themselves and buy from themselves so it was never going to work , garden centres, restaurant chain, why we stuck our fingers in these pies I’ll never know , but the Thai business is making money whilst I appreciate it needs investment. The long term I think it would of been worth it. But the latter in my opinion with the special dividend has kept and inflated the share price a little trying to help him( mr lewis) to get his bonus but they under estimated Ocado and should still Not under estimate them.
As for myself I shall look after number 1 as I’m only a number to Tesco but will stand up for my colleagues.
I was disturbed yesterday to hear of some bullying and intimidation going in store against another long standoff member of staff to which I have implored him to make a complaint in writing and email “ I like emails they leave a trail “ paperwork goes missing in store when it’s critical in certain circumstances.

Looking at other shares the reporting stopped after 320 ish so I believe this to be a platform issue than no one trading in Tesco shares.

Well they cut the price target from 47 to 42p well I’m sure most people here would be happy to see it hit 42P!

Yes won’t won’t to see good results as they will have to get rid of it all to the boss as an added bonus .! I see our boss is back to pre covid work ethos usually to be found in the middle of the aisle on his phone , by the checkouts on his phone or by the newspapers yup on his phone but now to be found slumped over the rail in Costa ( which is closed) of course you guessed it on his phone . Erm are you kidding yourself! After multiple placings and share equity issues in the last 5 years since it last hit £1 There is 3.8 BILLION! Shares in issue so at the moment this company is worth £6 million ( how many planes do they own 10? Someone let me know x) so to hit £1 the company will be worth £3.8 billion absolutely not going to happen! It could reach 1p but this reminds me of millwall shares the last and only time I’ll own a million shares in a company ( after a share consolidation I now own one solitary share for £300! ) so be very careful trading this share people and be prepared to lose.

Cj39 I’m loving your optimism and hopefully your right , the trend is your friend as they say, well I’ve lost thousands to William hill in my youth Managed to beat the horses and fruit machines at aged27... started to invest in shares thanks to Tescos Shares in success and Save as you earn scheme I have to say in 20 years investing I’ve had my dogs Bradford and bingly, telewest; tadpole technology,Debenhams, and had some amazing results O2 ,asos , boo hoo, I’m pretty much even a nd had the thrill along the way . but instead of putting it on golf bets and football ( little £10 bets I’m controlled these days!) I’d thought I’d stick £400 here on the 5th June at 150 early days still but unlike sticking it on a horse it’s still running and like you I believe these will run higher In the long term . Can’t believe it went down to 28p missed that bug#er

But I now believe this is the new bottom area 440-470 looking at how things are going) I’ll be back in for the long term as that would be flip 3 but not for a great gain but I don’t want to miss out on the future rise as I think this will have some oomph in it

Utterly dismal this share. So I need to sell 5,000 I may sell 10,000 by Friday next week as we’re spending 20k sprucing up the house so need a good result 235-240 I’ll sadly take . But I’ve said before I believe better value to be had else where so 10k to spread elsewhere , I’ve said before M&S and I’ll stick by it and depending how it goes will take my leap of faith in two weeks( I’ll go 4K), also I like Aviva 11% yeild should it be re instated in the future ( I’ll go 2k) lastly next online website is pretty strong and with the addition of oasis and warehouse will do them good “ heck even Tescos is on there!” That leaves 2k £500 in tullow oil and £500 in premier oil is the plan. These are my private darts onto the gambling wheel and are by no means recommendations. I see in the Supreme Court yesterday Sainsbury and co won a ruling against MasterCard and others for the fixed fee charges they charge every time a debit card is used etc . As a result will be seeking damages going back to 1992!.?
So with the Leigh day Equal pay claim against the supermarkets should they win that only goes back 6years from the day you put your claim in imagine that went back to 1992 I’d be minted!
The latest on this is a judge has ordered two Adjudicators to assess whether the work is equal . Leigh day has asked Tesco to supply the relevant information so that they can choose a similar Distribution centre to a store but alas Tesco has refused . So they have asked a judge to order them to do so.

I’ve watched this for a few months now and had a buy order at 8p ( when this was 9p ) alas it never got there so Tuesday I parked £300 in here a little punt but back in the day it went one way into the blasted machines and would of disappeared in a month along with the bookies , I think it will last a little longer here , I’m. happy to sit on this one for a while.

My thoughts exactly I’m sure there’s a few gagging for a punt to break up the lockdown boredom.
