Proposed Directors of Tirupati Graphite explain why they have requisitioned an GM. Watch the video here.
Hi mate. I have invested heavily in the banks in particular HSBC and Barclays. HSBC would be woth a punt once you think they have reached the bottom. Although they are down currently they made 23% more profit year end 2010 so the share price will recover, their high is around £7.60. Barclays will continue to climb at at some point not to far away will move back over £4, prob after Q1 results. Also picked up Home Retail who i have read could poss be in for a take over so expect them to move over £3. Aviva , sitting around £4, see this going north , how far and how quick is anyones guess. Finally i am holding RBS but sitting on a loss and av average 55p so need to hold fow a while. Had some good luck with VodaPhone and Easy yet also but out of these now. GL make sure you DYOR
Hi mate ! Think we still have alot of work to do to convince the city that we have a plan to address the issues we face, guess they have heard it all before. I joined the road shows Seb and hi steam have been delivering around the UK and i have to say i was very enciurage to see and hear from a team that were all new and seem to understand and agree with the business faces. Clearly time will tell. I was hold a significant qty of shares but sol out at a loss and have now put the cash into another company that will give a return sooner than maybe never ! The 2 in 1'S are a no brainer and lets hope this format gives us a real return not just one that the accountants have put together for the city.

New format stores are laid out like supermarkets in aisles. New signage and less cluttered, although this time of the year stock levels are low any how. Games zone, demo zone, IPOD zone, camera and gaming tables are just some of the new features. Stores deaf has a better feel about them compared to those still with the 80's formats.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=asVMkVXPPC5U&pos=3 Maybe if they sorted out after care customer service they might have better figues ! Don't understand how they have lost market share after now having the extra sales opportunites from being in store now !
PCW has the demo zone which would have been great if only we had of got this right, but no they screwed this up and they are going to be taken out. They also had crap Advent consessions when they should be Apple. But your right, the brand needs some thing new. Gadgest and tech is the way we all live ad they should really have nailed the market but with poor service and availability and little direction, it's anyones guess where the DSG group ends.
i was holding a signifcant amount of shares since last June, so pleasedi i sold out last week, although i wrote off a big loss, would have been even more after the last few days. GL to those still in, i won't ever be buying these shares back !
Your right mate, head office staff would struggle to run a bath ! Availablity is generally poor and prices far to high. I am hoping that some of this will be addressed this year. Senior managers ask for feedback only to ignore it cos it aint what the want to hear ! Promo ends are crap and don't have lines that link for additional full margin, for example shredders with paper or batteries with game controls, no brainer ! This year the 1234 that drive stock must be fixed as it clearly is not as good as the systems food retailers use. There is so much knowledge and experince in stores , i except that they may not be the best sales staff but if they took the pressure of them they may just perform better. As far as fives, ok it has it's benefits but after two years so many sales staff still don't do it which clearly must speak volumes !
Dsg prepare for some sensible changes to the way they work and they are looking like they might just get it right this year. Keith Jones leaves and is replaced by a real retailer Seb James from Tesco who worked with John Browett. Jorge operations director of PCW at last has been sent back to Spain and has been promoted to the MD job running 6 stores, no this was not a typing error yes 6 stores !!!!!! With Katie Bickerstaff , Alan Ritchie and one other OP's director joining from Somerfield joining, this gives them a real winning team of strong food retailers who understand a fast pace business , customer service, developing staff and making a bloody profit !!! Its been a long time coming but Johns plans are dropping it to place and set Dsg up for the next finacial year. Lets hope they focus on sales, margin and customer service rather that banging on about Keiths KPI's which encourages hard selling and puts customers off ! Currys and PCW restructure the regions and now work as one team under the same regional manager. at last. !!! And get this, they are going to look after the staff and invest in training, OMG !!! They are thinking about having a succession plan, happy days ! So with some time to implement the changes before the new finacial year, Kessa mut be getting worried and they now have a chance for Best buys to bring it on ! Lets all hope we see the SP rise with so many positive changes !!!
I will publish once it is safe enough without leaving me exposed. Deaf a big way to how the group has operated before ! I almost feel that someone has turned the light at last !!!!
Agree with most of what you say. I find it difficult to undestand how staff struggle to follow the basics and this refelcts the salary they earn. As you will know you get what your pay for when buiding a team, regardless of the industry or business. The staff can't work as a team and are pretty lazy but that is a reflection on how little the management team have control of their stores and how poor their team development is with minimal succession planning for stores to replace the staff they keep being told to remove for not delivering Fives. Although it is critical that they do remove those with the wrong behavious, DSG has a long way to go if they are likely to get closer to the finishing post. John Browett seems to be getting ready to implement the nest phase of the plan to radically change those at the top who have been there for far to long and are the root cause of so many issues with poor development, hard selling and pretty poor business planning.
DSG did buy less stock but what they did buy were sellable products not the crap they have in the past that gets left in store that no one wants. Comet dropped 3.9% in sales LFL over peak while DSG increased by 8%. Sales growth won't always give you the proft as i am sure you know. I have been holding several million shares in this compay but have sigificatly reduced my holdings as they contiue to struggle to win the city over ad that they can pull through. If best get the plan right then Comet will be buggered and DSG will also need to up the pace although i don't feel they have done enough to win the battle against the yanks. Fives contiues to be the selling model which although has some good points, can not replace that they employee sales colleagues on poor pay who are not sales based. I have kept with this group for the last 18 months and it wil be interesting if the resturcture plan it puts in place before the new financial year which i am sure we cost regional maagers their jobs as they intergrate all brands regionaly i the same region rather than havig three regional managers visitig the same city and area. The intergartion of Currys and PCW have been a success and there have been few job losses , those that were at risk were colleagues who were ot right for the business ad there will be plenty more casualties as the roll out continues and this will include managemet in stores as well.
Let me inlighten you, last year DSG was days away from going under, no one is to big to fall, I have been reading posts on other boards for some time now and despite what other tell you, DYOR mate ! Some big changes coming this year which should aid the recovery of DSG.
Deaf a RI as i was issued 500k shares at 16p
There was a RI last Sept mate !
You must be working for a GM who is ripping you off, if you go onto cool under peak it cleary states time and a half after 40 hours ! Got to say don't agree with the rest of your post !
Sales data will be distorted as this year boxing day fell at the weekend, stores have seen a much stronger performance bank holiday Monday. Share your views on the share price, think it could be some time before we see some progress with teh share price. Wonder what the city will make of KJ moving to JJC, all because he gets discount on he shell suits ! LOL
Hi guys , where did you get the numbers from, im in a key role in DSGi and im not sure these seem rightto me, well lets hope not any way !
Penny maker , how wrong , U R , would luv 2 stay and wind u up a bit more , but i have better things to do ! Mwwwahh
Titanic is the man who we think is a *ick the post that he sends are generally *hit, Don't trust what he say's and don't let go of your money, he has a hidden agenda which we don't fink is funny. He is brave on the screen ,with the replies he has wrote, and i'm the money maker and real top bloke. I'm good with advice unlike the Mr Titanic. he is getting annoyed and has started to panic. So the moral of my ditty is to ignore what he says, chose your own rules on how you will play. The ship is going down and it is Mr itanic gonna report you . you knob and then they will banit !
