If the EU negotiators obviously know we have left, then why are they not negotiating on the basis that we are an independent sovereign country?
If they are not trying to control, why are they insisting on a level playing field?
If they are pragmatic, why are they insisting that any deal rests on their access to our fishing waters, do you believe that is sensible and practical?
If I was an EU fisherman I would believe, yes that's a pragmatic stance, from where I'm standing it's clearly not. That would only be seen as a sensible deal back in Brussels.
Regarding dedicating itself to dealing with Covid19 right now, what on earth do you think it's doing, have you seen the news lately?
Are you indicating that government's can only handle one crisis at a time?
Is it not beyond the bounds of modern government to multitask?
The only mess that Brexit throws up as you call it will be caused by all the negativity, all the doubters and pessimists that want to see the UK fail.
Be positive and have a can do attitude, unless you're resigned to the fact that failure is the only option.

DCB has only been back a day and he's already flushed out a few diehard remoaners (sorry mick, I know you don't like that term). However everything about the UK leaving the failing EU has probably already been said on this BB. The government has a mandate to carry out the democratic will of the people, and I believe that is what they are doing. I don't need any encouragement, my thoughts on the EU are well known here.
Further more I can't recall advocating a no deal, but if that's how we end up, it certainly won't be because of the UK's stance. The EU haven't quite grasped the fact that we have left and still want to retain control.
When or if the Corona issue gets resolved and as the EOY deadline approaches the subject of any trade deal terms will again be top of the MSM agenda as I'm sure it will be on here.
There will be plenty of time for debate admin permitted. They seem to accept CV -19 but remove certain Brexit related posts even though both have impacted the SP.

Anyone would think that all EU trade is going to finish at the end of the year.
We are leaving the broken, struggling protectionist EU and along with it, all the rules and regulations of what that shattered and fragmented organisation entails, that's all.

Far from it DCB, we are now firmly in the driving seat. With the EU in tatters and possibly on the verge of breakup it is they who will in the end be pleading for a deal. At any cost they do not want WTO rules with their largest trading partner.
