With all the carnage this morning I see the SP is desperately trying to stay above the offer price.

The old doom mongers on here have not only accepted that rates may turn negative but are now posting that it's already happened.
Can't see it happening here, judging by Japan and Europe's experience. So far it's not worked, last time I looked growth was still stagnant and inflation was not responding.
Now some would argue that today's rates might as well be minus at 0.1% but it's a psychological barrier and once it has crossed it's a lot harder to reverse.
I believe the FED has stated that rates would remain positive indefinitely.
The BOE have only stated that they'll look into the effects of negative rates, why wouldn't they it's part of their mandate, but as usual everyone jump's to conclusions and as usual, it's usually the wrong one.

Rosewall, nothing offensive, I'm sure all on here would agree that the bums and freeloaders I refer to does not include the elderly and infirm. Although there are plenty that are taking advantage of the disabled/motobility scheme some associates included.
As for swapping payments around, these were set by the local authorities at the time, not connected to central government. This in my opinion was why it was deemed unfair, people were paying different rates as set by their councils.
As I said it proved to be unworkable and had to be scrapped.
A few posts since complaining about the unfairness of the council tax. I'm a believer that if you're benefitting from a service you should pay, in that respect poll tax seemed fairer, unlike council tax where just the householder pays.

Nothing wrong with the poll tax in principle, why should the homeowner pay for all the services while the bums and freeloaders reap all the benefits.
It made everybody accountable, trouble is it was unenforceable, easier to collect rate's/council tax, house's don't move.

I'm optimistic about selling c 50p, IMO the only unknown is the timescale.
If it doesn't sink to 20p and Brexit takes It's course with Covid restrained then the timeline for your target Tpig could lengthen considerably, by years/decades even.
Which ever way this runs I'm quite sanguine about this 'argument' on here, I have funds for additions if deemed necessary, back to the original unknown, that is my own timeline will endure.
