The FTSE was down 65.55 (0.93%)
Lloyds was up 2.065p (4.81%)
Not that the two are connected, but you have to make your own conclusions, don't be a denier.

LA, if you believe in rights issues and they are "neither here nor there" perhaps you should try your luck on the AIM.
You will find them a bit more frequent over there and you'll be able to learn about dilution at the same time.

You're obviously new to this game LA, with statements like that I wonder how many RI's you have participated in?
Invariably the additional fund raise price will be achieved and beyond, naturally by the market. That being the case why take part?

For once I agree with you bb, you maybe a prolific poster on here but your mandate does not extend to the market. Saying that you've certainly suckered a few on here with your ramblings.

At last a post with some common sense T100. Of course a fund raise at this point is not good for shareholders, they rarely are unless there is a specific purpose usually other than reducing debt.

The last RI I was involved in, as usual I waited, watching the SP drop. A few days before the cutoff date the price dropped below the offer price and then carried on.
I didn't take up my entitlement but simply bought more than my entitlement on the open market.

Raising monies solely to reduce debt is often not a good policy, don't be too hasty.

Now the triple lock is a double lock there's probably a number of pensioners who wish that RPI was still in the equation Lti.

All this RI rumor is just that, rumor.
Started by Credit Suisse as the reason to cut its target price, perpetuated here by big-blue as being a fact with an RNS that must follow because of stock market rules.
If you heard it on R4, it must be true lol.
Sadly his typing seems quicker than his brain.

Leisure and travel are out of favour with the expected upturn and season coming to a close.
Just compare the monthly for IAG, TUI and SAGA virtually identical. I picked SAGA because it's seen as a travel stock even though it is principally an insurance company. Just another indication how the herd works together.

Credit Suisse still has an outperform rating on IAG.

The FED announced sometime ago that interest rates will not change until inflation retracts naturally to its target level.
I guess the BOE will follow even though there have been noises about a rise early next year.
Depends if we can afford it, which imo we can't.

Sadly his self importance and inflated ego will prevent him from admitting he's wrong. If you press him further, then the abuse starts.

You've lost it big time b-b, regardless of what you believe, your post was clearly ERRONEOUS, INACCURATE and WRONG, and what's more it's there in black and white for all to see, you can't twist your own contributions.

This has taken up too much of this BB today. I can tell you're someone who clearly likes to have the last word to try and salvage some degree of being in the right, so feel free.

These BB's are for people to share opinions, inform, learn and post relevant information.
Not on the IAG board very often but when I see falsehoods, and they're misleading I'll question them.
As I said, it seems you have changed your views and now agree with me, it seems several on here have the same opinion.
If you don't like me holding you to account either admit you're wrong, stop the abuse or better still, probably for you, use the filter.

ps: Before you post your so-called 'facts', wait for an RNS then you can be certain.

"That is in the public domain from a share news cast service commenting on a broker note. IAG cannot ignore that, they will have to make some sort of announcement against the speculation. Those are the stock exchange rules."

You then go on to state that I'm in denial when in your words, "presented with an absolute fact."
I'm sorry, but until I see an RNS from the company announcing a RI, then it is what it is….. speculation, pure and simple, certainly not "an absolute fact."
Contrary to your beliefs that the board is obliged to make a comment is false. It's not a fact, it's your interpretation of a broker's opinion.
Now whether IAG are planning a RI or not is another matter entirely but I noticed you've changed your tune somewhat as per your post today…... "It is a fine line whether IAG will be required to comment on press speculation re a rights issue. From the rules, there is speculation in the public domain but critically the source is an analyst."

Seems you are beginning to agree with me.
You may be a prolific poster on here b-b and my guess is that you have researched IAG more than most, but that doesn't make you correct all the time, it's all just opinions, that is why "I despair"
