I read something like this recently.
"Cash is a position" and I agree especially as I'm holding more of it of late.
All this talk about inflation eroding cash buying power is just the usual talk when inflation takes hold. The buying capacity of a pound doesn't change that much day to day but the value of your shares changes or can change much more rapidly.
Bonds, Stocks, Gold , Crypto - it's all getting sold for cash.
Another thing, fund managers’ cash pile is the biggest since 2001.
Bear markets (I know we're not there yet) last shorter than bull markets.
Work it out for yourself.
Don't be frightened to take a profit, and conversely a loss. Some have an inherent fear of selling a share less than what they paid for it and will wait forever just to make that sell.
If you do that you'll run out of money.
You see comments on this site like, I'm locked out. I guess what they really mean is they can't bring themselves to sell at a loss, if they did then they're back in the game. As I read cash is a position.
Just an observation.

It doesn't matter a monkeys what price Lloyds could be elevated to, because the majority invested here have some sort of allegiance to LBG and cannot bring themselves to sell any.
This was made very obvious during lockdown when the SP plumited to 24p and many were too frightened to sell on the way down. Like rabbits caught in the headlights just watching their investment depreciate. Wasn't really investing was it, especially with the withdrawn dividend.
That's what happens when you become attached to a share.

After some time out, It's that day again.
If you're a regular observer/contributor on this Lloyd's BB, brace yourself for the usual tirade of comments of, where's my dividend, mine's been paid, still waiting for mine, comments I'm with so and so and they are usually prompt payer's etc.
It's like a matter of life and death, where's my dividend, if it's that important you're in the wrong game.
This BB has become so boring, so predictable with many peeps repeating ad nauseam.

The official target for price stability by the BOE is the Core CPI figure which came in at 6.2%, this figure strips out food and energy. But of course the only figure you'll hear today is the 9.0% CPI.

Why would the UK devalue the pound? The last thing the UK needs is higher import costs.
We haven't got sunny Jim Callahan installed in number 11. This is a conservative government, unemployment is at levels not seen since 1974.
Blimey, remember Wilson after devaluing by c15% and his now infamous pound in your pocket quote. The thing is the poor labour voters believed him. Just like today they haven't got a clue, but they are learning.
Btw the pound has rallied against the Dollar and the Euro these last couple of weeks.
You've been listening to the MSM with all their scare stories.
They were reporting this morning that wages aren't rising fast enough, quoting 4% rises when in fact latest reports are that they have risen by 7.0% "far exceeding economists' average forecast of a 5.4% rise as companies resorted to bonuses to attract or keep staff."
If you keep listening to these media doom merchants about a widespread cost of living crisis you'll end up believing it.
Some are genuinely struggling but not as bad as being reported, and the poor sops jump on the bandwagon, there's been a few on here. Anyone on a share site forum ain't suffering (if so sell some) they're just the liberal left having a pop and they'll be back.
I suggest peeps take advantage of the extra volatility during these times.

Well you can't argue with the progress being made here.
In the space of just two weeks Budge has single handedly reduced the start of production by over 22%!!!
That's from 4 to 5 years to 3 to 4 years.
But of course this all depends on the cooperation of the permitting authorities to speed up the process, good luck with that one. Not to mention the long drawn out wrangling, waiting for responses about a well known World Heritage Site nearby.
I've given my 'hypothetical' reasons why the SP won't exceed 20p anytime soon, primarily because we do not generate any income and are not likely to for sometime.
But hey I'm not the only one giving out hypotheticals, just read the last two RNS issued and note the progress.

"Permitted by law", suppose there must be limits as to how much access you're allowed into a company's dealings especially when you're a competitor and don't proceed.
But things were pretty dire at that time with the government breathing down your neck.
But we're still paying the price today with the Reading branch fiasco, whilst some LTH's have never recovered.
I was not invested at that time.

There seems to be a big outpouring of support for Charlie Nunn here, but I'm of the opinion that it's early days yet. It was the same for AHO when he arrived after poor ol Eric Daniels (didn't he get the blame for the HBOS/due diligence fiasco). But it was a different story when he left.
I'm just wondering if Charlie will have the same support here after a few years, somehow I doubt it. It's the same with BOE
