Presumably UK companies have signed agreements with EU suppliers for X amount of gas. Sounds like they are withholding UK supplies for their own shortfalls, but hey that's the EU for you.

I see in that link, the survey shows that cash as a percentage of portfolios stands at 6.1%, a 21-year high. That's compared to a long-term average of 4.8%.
I have considerably more liquidity than 6.1% available. But I also have negative holdings. Not all I might add.

There's no denying the Tories are in turmoil atm, however even given the present situation I would still vote conservative today. UK tax levels today are broadly in line with those of 2021, but if you go by the polls, people don't want help with energy and lower taxes, that's a first. If labour do get elected I'll remind them when their tax and spend starts.
