Its only natural in todays world of instant gratifcation to be underwelmed by progress at QED. However despite my frustration at the slow pace JM has put us on a good path and lined up some cracking products that should come good in the very near future. Being the frontman obviously not his main strength but he has rescued to company from the previous failure and successfully funded and moved us forward. We are where we are thanks to JM and the next person at the helm should have a much easier time than he's had for the last few years. good on yr JM, fingers crossed it all comes good for you and us!

As THE consultant working with OCP i would have expected him to have kowledge of the situation at OCP and be able to deal with changes on site. I don't think he has been value for money and therefore don't see why he should get the original warrants extended. typical consultants stringing the job out and collecting their inflated fees for doing the bare minimum.

Regarding extending the remaining warrants I don't think that's necessary. They were a golden handshake to help lubricate the process and speed it up after OCP were dragging their heels. It's made little difference and I do not think there needs to be any extra reward as progress has been painfully slow. The fact that QED have a product that reduces emissions and costs should be incentive enough now not to need to bribe them to hurry up.

Yep doesn't mean anything commercial just that he is cashing them in before they expire.

Don't forget that wether MSC sign off and commercially buy the fuel after trial or not, qed should still have a lono from the engine manufacturer meaning it will be much easier in future for other shipping companies running the same engines to take the msar/biomsar route.

I'm okay with cucumbers and salad crops being naked. Potatoes in paper sacks, drink in glass reusable bottles, food in tins rather than shrink wrapped plastic trays. Plastic packging is cheap for the manufacturer and consumer because it doesn't consider any environmental costs of disposal or environmental degradation. Anyone remember corona pop bottles. You had a 10p deposit for the bottle which was reused, that was the 70,s and in terms of reuse we've gone backwards. We've gone too far now in my view, we poisoned the air with chemicals, the water with Pfa, and the land with micro plastics. A mass extinction of the human race might give the planet a chance to recover....

Thanks. I had a nose on the quad rise forum ater reactivating my account and now realise why the warning about the lse site is on there. Im happy to listen to any comments, if there's a point. I'm not bothered about sp comments or this person is a troll blah blah. ive been reading the boards for a number years and will continue to do so, I just skim through the rubbish. I did my research years ago and like many will have been frustrated at the perceived lack of progress but I aways kept a holding. QED was a gamble but now the odds are very much in their favour. You gotta be in it to win it hence why I've stuck it out. I'm not gonna lie i definitely traded some highs and reduced my average but why wouldn't you if you can manage it. I also traded a few and then ended up buying back slightly higher recently primarily as I considered that in the grand scheme of things the difference between 3.6 and 4.2 was tiny given the potential for growth.

I understand your commercial reasons but for me it was about alt fuels and the environment so I'd rather a push towards the greener fuels asap if the tech is there and customers are willing. As someone who worked in the environmental sector for 30 years and left disallusioned after the lack of progress in the face of scientific evidence I'd say let's go green with all guns. Just look at plastic, we've known it's a problem for years, micro plastics are now within protein in our food chain and yet so far we have Plastic bottles with retained plastic tops and plastic reusable bags. Just stop making the damn stuff. Sorry I digress.

All good points. Especially when you look at the emissions levels of ammonia fuels which are being touted as the next "green" fuels. Not to mention the hazards of handling toxic ammonia and it's devastating effects to the environment if there's a leak. I originally invested as an environmental choice and secondly as alternate fuel choice but biomsar if they can commercialise it will be absolutely a game changer. Yes we know msar works but biomsar is on another level and in my mind what would ultimately be a truly sustainable fuel as the issue had always been getting enough feedstock. ethanol fuel was great but you'd need to cover the plant in crop just to produce enough fuel then there's not enough space for food production. But here we are using a plentiful by product of which there's millions of tons just sitting waiting to be converted into a viable fuel that can be handled with existing infrastructure. It's hard imagine a more sensible process or end product.

Sure I get the point re insurance. You can insure anything but there comes a point where it's cost prohibitive. People do seem to be rather touchy on the subject of the POC. My point probably wasn't made clearly. This is how I understand it.

In order to use the fuel commercially we needed a full Lono. X amount of hours (8000?) followed by a strip down and assessment of wear. If all good then manufacturers issue full lono and ship sails off sweetly on msar.

What's now being said is we can build on the interim lono with the POC, which won't require strip down? The engine manufacturer won't issue a full lono but the interim lono and poc will be enough to make insurance commercially viable for the fuel to be used and still have economic benefits over traditional heavy fuel oil. Thus msar can be used as an intermediate fuel until biomsar or zero is commercial. I happily welcome any corrections to my understanding.

Not trolling just trying to ascertain the differences. i know the interim lono was off the back of the maersk trial and was curious why this poc was any different. If all that is holding back use of msar was insurance I can't see why it hasn't been taken up commercially if it's that easy to get insurance. I'm invested in QED for the long term but given the historical difficulties in getting the fuel to market I am more than a little cautious about future progress. As I said I'm more positive now than any other time in the last 12 years about QED,s potential.

It will be interesting to see what companies are able to get insurance on multi million pound engines to use a POC fuel as opposed to one in which the engine manufacturer has agreed to the fuel use as per a lono. just have to be patient a little longer and see what plays out.

Hi Stockcheque, I must have missed the commercialisation of msar on POC. I must re read the RNS. I thought lono was required by engine manufacturer for all seabourne vessels due to the water content and it not being an admissible fuel currently. I get power stations and yachts but you're saying that super tankers will run on msar with just a POC?

Good morning fellow long term sufferer's. As someone who has been investing in qfi/qed for 12 years I've seen and experienced several rises and falls and a corresponding emotional rollercoaster. However the reasons I invested originally and have been building a position ever since are the same but now more obvious than ever. QED are trying to market a disruptive technology that will turn the fossil fuelled marine sector and more on its head. Is considerable resistance when trying to break this market. I believe that once we get a lono from the next trial, QED will be an obvious target for an oil major. At that point the years of patience and worry will pay off and be worth it. Keep the faith and an eye on the prize.

Still here haha. Yes i did top slice at about 35p but it was a distant memory now. I’ve bought and sold many more times since and have increased my holding over the years. Way overweight in QFI and still believe in the product/s. I took place in the recent offer and believe we have the best shot weve had in years now and money to fund it. More into investing for dividends these days big still have a handful of shares from ten years ago that i still retain a fond memory of. Whether they will ever materialise into anything remains to be seen but we all need to dream sometimes.
