Pokerface I sense I am a far superior investor to you and greater intellect having banked my 4k+ trading dividend profit on aviva yesterday and you whinging. . You are a sad investor. On the other hand I am a happy one that sees market crisis as great opportunities and you on the other hand to reach for tissue box.
Maybe the tissues have run out as you have shown your hand as being a sad brexit remoaner.

Hi, bought a chunk of aviva around 2 weeks ago at 231p sold yesterday at 274p. Just pure luck not genius investing. Still taking a hit on on some of my other investments.Just thought sp was getting really cheap. You have to think that when sp was over 4 quid we would have been begging for these levels to get in. If you are waiting for a point to get in set a sp target and stick to it, if you miss your sp target you will be frustrated with yourself. Be prepared for wild swings in this environment.Do not invest too much that it makes you lose sleep. Be prepared for big dips before you can realise a profit.
For long term holders sit tight and chill it all out. Things will improve in long te rm. We might not be over the worst yet. Aviva has huge firewall of cash to buffer this crisis and believe me we are certainly in a crisis a lot of companies will be smashed by this.
On divi cancellation. I think it is correct. We are in uncharted territories andu board is holding back cards for long game to ensure the survival and strengthening the companies financial foundations. The evaporation of motor accident claims has to be a plus for insurers, could produce surplus cash. Other obvious sad consequences will be negative. Divis paid out cannot be got back to aid aviva. . When Divis are re instated a special dividend payment of some sort is not out of the question.
I always have some cash ready to get in on juicy low prices as we have now. My position is waiting on aviva to drop a bit further to get in again and take immediate profits instantly as any profit can vanish in minutes in this situation.

The suspending of divi makes aviva More investable for me as I have them in my long term portfolio along with others.It makes aviva safer. I hope this helps some with aviva and other interests.

UK Government not renewing printing contracts and outsourcing the passport contract must have stung a bit.Corruption probe will not have helped either.When Governments lose confidence in companies they ply with cash that they take for granted then trouble looms.

Thinking of opening a trendy wheelbarrow store selling eco friendly nice looker streetwise barrows with single headlamp powered by the eco slim lined wheel via on board dynamo.Mini motor optional (powered by self generating of propulsion via increased outage generator) .The wheelbarrow will be designed in a windtunnel to achieve aerodynamic efficiency .It will be self funding and cash generative for daily users going about their daily business and commute due to it's obvious onboard advertising opportunities.

Hi Farmertally.I read an article while looking over Aviva a few weeks ago that indicated that no major hedge funds that specialise shorting companies that are experiencing sp pressure are interested in Aviva at the moment.

I believe Aviva to be now one of a number of excellent companies that fit this category,thus creating a good window as to invest long term with security of regular dividends at favourable rates to ease turbulance in sp and market fluctuations.I added to my AV holding before xd at about 417p.

Aviva is a well run company and have committed to a progressive dividend policy.Nothing is certain in share holding of any company ,Aviva is worth at least a fiver a pop at these uncertain times,Historically worth much more.I have about 30% of my portfolio invested in AV as LT income investment and dip in and out on sp lows.The adding of AV shares I have a target price of 500p.

Brokers are positive at the moment on AV and come into my due diligence before investing in any share,also historic dividend payments during market crisis as from 2008.I understand that these points are only theory but give confidence on holding for growth and long term investment.I have dipped in and out of AV with good results since 2008 market crash and am happy holding long term for excellent divi.

Looking at previous and present ho;dings seems maybe a slight increase in holdings.Could have helped sp.Also short positions look positive for sp too.

Any news that a General Election is kicked into the very long grass is positive for RMG.Corbs was bleating his usual about re privatisation for utilities and maybe RMG a while back.Any hint of a GE is not good for sp.Into a profit today,have 3 quid target.

Yeah,could be a goer,I wiill write to RMG on our thoughts on expansion into food sector,lots of us should put it to them to get it on the board table.Ocado sp has soared after contract wins with more in their pipeline.The dream is on ...RMG sp 7 quid a pop.

RMG board need to start thinking outside the box,their own spectrum.They need to get feelers out to sign new contracts as Ocado is doing.Why not move into the food sector in a massive way and shell shock market and others,frighten other van owners such as Ocado to death.Get talking to supermarkets with view to long term delivery contracts or with a view to managing deliveries so as supermarkets can concentrate on core competition problems.

.It would be easy to convert some current RMG vehicles with coolers or add suitable vehicles.It would be terrific to see a Royal Mail van and driver deliver my weekly shop.Even a whisper from management of this would spook markets for RMG positivity. Iceland supermarket will be all ears.
