hence i asked whether they would be reducing their short on buying here

if obey didnt see this happening one would think they would keep their short position open here imo...

the only big shorter was obey actually with 7% total short position was just over 10%

if they close their short they have to give back lended shares, meaning they would not be holders
is that correct or not ?

UK retail chain Sports Direct is counting the cost of its investment in struggling department store group Debenhams, admitting on Thursday that its near 30 per cent stake is worth £85m less than a year ago.

believe its up to the majority shareholders to accept or reject the offer or am i wrong ?

it says in the rns they will help with funding concerns...

he also has a 30% stake here
perhaps thats the reason for what some assume a generous offer
if it would go otherwise his 30% would be wiped out by dilution or am i wrong ?

i have the same opinion, they initially didnt aim to buy house of fraser either but did
same with sports direct ma owns a stake here and he has a plan for this business to do well hence why he wants to be on board, why wait until more damage is done by current bod ?

most likely an offer coming imo, i cant see why else they would take their stake to that level unless they want maximum exposure to what is going on with belong which based on what i am reading is their main interest !?

so what are peoples opinions
personally i cant see them refusing this offer as what other options does deb have that would benefit shareholders that much?

indeed, a possible offer will always have the clause in it where they claim it does not mean an offer will be made
same with a possible rto etc etc...

if the bid would come at 5p you couldnt buy under 5p.. personally i see it as an opportunity could go both ways but a possible offer at 5p indicates its undervalued to me

offer made to deb at 5p 100 something % premium
think we got something similar happening here given the games belong arenas are going to open in sports direct stores
apparently they have plans for something bigger

think an offer is very likely on the cards here.. unlikely it will be at such a price though
