It's the difference between the price you buy at (the offer price) and the price shares are currently being sold at (the bid). In short, it's the amount the sale price has to increase before you make any gain. If the spread is large (like here) it's more of a risk to buy in as there's less change of making any gains. Be wary of anyone screaming in caps about share prices FLYING - always check the spread and the gain needed for you to profit as it's likely you're being drawn into a risky investment by a lowlife for their own profit.

Nice attitude, but then again you can afford an attitude like that I'm sure. I'll continue to watch your advice, however for anyone out there, always always check the spread required to get the bid price to exceed the price you're paying. Latecomers almost always lose out.
