Invesco were recently offered at least 30p for all of their stake and refused.
I had funds ready to re-invest in TEK, when I read the RNS and the first thought I had was placing coming to fund purchase of shares. I'll wait on the sidelines a little longer to see how it plays out.
FDA is never a certainty.
How many products did Motif Bio have? Did they all simultaneously fail?
4D have multiple products in the pipeline, some will likely fail but we only need one.
No one trick pony here.
Lunus, I agree, they need each other and deal is a forgone as far as I am concerned but in saying that I worked in pharma long enough to know it's not done until it's done. Things can and do change at the last minute. There is always risk and until there is product on the shelf that risk is very real.
The reason for my large exposure here is the quantity and quality of the pipeline only a matter of when not if and I am prepared to wait.
TBF Lunus Lilly could say take it or leave it, Vlad might hold the cards but Lilly holds the money , the experience and the manufacturing capability. I would think both sides will have their terms. Lilly are a near 200 billion company and will have corporate structures and governance/procedures in place that wont be bent to Vlad's will. Lilly's will make a fair offer and the price will be the price. There may be some negotiation around timelines/milestones and then some legal wranglings. I think it will just come down to that's our offer, this is what we need as a company if you work with that great if not, oh well sorry we couldn't make a deal.
I have worked in Lilly and they're one of the most if not the most structured and rigid (in a good way) of all the large Pharma's I have worked in.
Maybe as part of the Lilly deal there is a requirement for a CEO to be put in place and that it may be contributing to the timeline. I'd imagine the right CEO's don't grow on trees and will need to be tempted from somewhere else. I know if I was Lilly I would want assurances that business side is taken care of as much as the science side. I would also prefer if my best scientist is able to focus 100% on the science because that's ultimately where the value will be derived from.
If it does drop into the 5's I will attempt to double my holding. In the red now and over 25% of my portfolio. I still believe, so if it goes lower I will take funds from elsewhere and average down. It was the 5s I first bought in but average at 8 now after multiple top-ups.
I am here since 20p I top sliced last year and I am not planning parting with my shares anytime soon or averaging up. Agree with your summation Abredeenman. I am not supporting the optics of what they did. The way I read it is that no bad news is now incoming that will drive down the price. As soon as those contracts start landing DD's could be precluded for a very long time so to me this was there small window of opportunity and they took it.
If the directors sold their shares with knowledge of no contract or a smaller than expected contract it would be insider trading. Therefor they had a small window in which to sell for it not to be considered insider trading. Nothing wrong with taking your dues when opportunity is available to you.
All IMO of course. DYOR
