Your frequency of movements is complete baloney as you well know-total scaremongering, as the movements are limited by section 106 agreement, and cannot start unrestricted until 0630, not 0600. If the airport was anywhere near the limit, the light aircraft and ga movements would be sacrificed for the big earning passenger flights. Some pax flights are allowed to be scheduled daily between 2300 and 2330, so you are wrong on that timing also!
Yes, thanks might have to do that to see whether any intention to re-issue them. Although it is obvious now what happened, in 30 years time it might not be. If the company is still going then!!!
Has anyone holding paper certificate in Stobart group, been issued with a replacement paper certificate by the company secretary for ESKN? Surely this must be done to stop old certificates being misplaced and forgotten about?
The failure to resurrect Flybe may actually help the sale of Stobart Air, particularly if it can be put on a UK AOC for a regional airline that needs a sudden increase in capacity to make the most of the eventual COVID restrictions being eased, as well as the likelihood of more domestic holidays. I believe I read that APD for domestic flights may be being reduced. This could also potentially help.
Do you have a link? Good news now no. 5 in the USA.
If you'd been following that closely you'd know his name is Warwick, not Warren.
Personally I'm not sure what value(if any at all) he added to the company. The original ezj deal was well before his appointment at Stobart.
He has certainly been one of the elements that has led to distraction from the core task of building the business at times imho.
I'm sure he will have negotiated very attractive bonus/share options at Swissport!!
(Sharecast News) - Jefferies upgraded its ratings for DS Smith and Smurfit Kappa shares to 'buy' as the broker predicted positive trading for packaging companies helped by ecommerce and environmental pressures.
European containerboard and box companies have healthy order books and low inventory levels going into 2021, Jefferies said.
Tighter global inventory will support pricing in the first half of 2021 and new supply will be absorbed by underlying demand, modest industrial recovery in the second half and more exports to China, Jefferies said. As a result a bear case scenario for prices is unlikely, it added.
Jefferies increased its ratings on DS Smith and Smurfit Kappa from 'hold' with a £4.40 price target for DS Smith shares and a £39.50/€44 target for Smurfit Kappa. The broker kept Mondi as its top pick in the sector with a 'buy' recommendation and a £20.50 price target.
Ecommerce has been "supercharged" by Covid-19 as consumers in lockdown switched spending from travel and leisure to ordering more goods delivered in boxes to their homes, Jefferies analyst Cole Hathorn said. Business customers may also pay more for customised, more attractive packaging than brown boxes to present to consumers, he added.
The paper packaging sector will also gain over time from sustainability trends, including consumers turning away from plastic. There are many opportunities for plastic packaging to be replaced by paper and these will increase if governments use legislation or tax to encourage the switch, Hathorn said.
"Longer term, with ecommerce and sustainability tailwinds, in our view the packaging stocks should trade on higher through-the-cycle multiples'," Hathorn wrote in a note to clients.
Good stuff....
Legally, do they still have to pay the promised dividend in January?
'in silico analysis' = computer analysis. Anyway good news.
I wonder if the same for the South African strain?
Yes, very underhand.

Unfortunately cargo movements are restricted at Southend to only 10% of the total amount of movements by the local councils; because of the decimation of passenger flights due Covid, the cargo flight allocation is largely used up by the 'Amazon' cargo flights. Extra cargo flights have been going everywhere BUT Southend as a result.
One would hope that SEN management had been seeking a derogation (based on the unique situation and the greater national requirements) from this requirement from the Councils, but I have not seen anything in the local press to this end.
still being paid in January if on the record tomorrow? If so, is this at the start of trading or end of trading tomorrow?
is absolutely ridiculous on this!
Re last pax from cax, was on the 23rd March to Southend, see: https://www.loganair.co.uk/our-story/latest-news/2020/flights-from-carlisle-lake-district-airport-suspended.
ATC was a problem last time, but perhaps technology moving on would allow a solution for a remote Tower to be implemented, provided from Southend or Teesside.
When the name change from Stobart Group comes in the New Year sometime (my guess would be by the end-January), how do people feel this might effect the share price from these present levels?
agreed... nicely timed before Christmas. Have a good one, one and all.
It would be good if Amazon cargo flights were accommodated at Carlisle, it would be a way of keeping the airport open & functional. At the moment it is notified closed until 31st January 2021. whether there will be any resumption of pax. flights at any time remains to be seen.
Southend Terminal re-opens on the 18th Dec, so must have a flight or 2 from then, and also be able to take diversions again from then
I would think that Teesside would be more on the cards for Amazon than Carlisle (which is effectively still mothballed for commercial aviatiouse).. Plenty of development room at Teesside with better road connections.
Are Stobart still involved with the management of Teesside?
