Pleasantly surprised the sp is still heading N. Lots of profit taking at above £8. The question I raised yesterday was, would investors sell b4 the x divi date, expecting a fall after it, and forego a c16p after tax divi, expecting a bigger fall post ex divi date? Sorry that's convoluted. Post ex divi date, and in the run up to the finals, prob announce prelim. FY finals in Feb '18, I expect sp to be heading N again in lieu of v strong finals.
Last years finals were comfortably head of 2 x interims. On that basis, I expect FY '17 to be ahead of 2x interims just announced. Last years net profit was $117m. Recent interim profit was $90M !!. or 77% of FY '16 !! If I say FY '17 will be $150M, and 60% divi payout is $90Mand 113M shares =79c = 61p less the 18p 1/2 y Divi = 43p less 25% tax =32p., and 47p for the year after Tax.Last year the co also paid a 'special' divi of 27c or 20p . If co maintains this, then FY '17 payout would be, less tax, 62p. If the sp then is a tenner the yield , after tax would be 6.2 % And think of the yield if you are holding with av sp in the 4,5,6,7,8 £'s.
Still cheap IMHO.
