In a new report released yesterday from Consumer Reports, Tesla’s latest lane-changing feature is performing far worse than expected. Specifically, they found Navigate on Autopilot to be worse than we, as individuals, are at changing lanes. The report also says Navigate on Autopilot does so in waysthat t are in violation of state laws. Other automakers, have cameras to do the monitoring. General Motors uses cameras to monitor drivers’ faces and eyes to see that they are focused on the road ahead while Navigate on Autopilot is engaged. Was reading that this morning. What’s the nearest competition? Can see why GM excited about their tech all round. Certainly been working on being the leader for a number of years. Still puzzling me why no mentions of patents coming out? Surely as companies developing allbthis tech they was looking at protection in the market?

KMB is also studying anti-drowsiness systems to monitor the status of captains.

The trials have entered the final stage, after the company earlier invited five suppliers to test their systems.

Kwan said once the trial report is completed, procurement procedures will commence on an open tendering basis.

The company plans to install the system on its bus fleet in phases from the fall, with the first phase involving Long Win buses.

"KMB moves with the times and we aim to enhance bus safety by introducing various safety measures," Kwan said.
