If a long term holders have held for say 5 years and couldn’t scramble some money together to average down over that time then they’ve been very unlucky with their personal finances.

There was a binary choice for long term holders

1. Sell

2. Average down

Doing nothing, even in hindsight, is as silly imo.

Compared to traders, who’ve lost, long term holders are in a better position. A paper loss or profit is such that. Unrealised. Opportunity cost aside, the volatility has enabled long term holders to increase their holding and lower their average.

Lots of these posters use hindsight. Which is pointless really. In hindsight is all well and good.

If you don’t sell you don’t lose money. Pretty easy concept to grasp. So many have lost money here. Long term holders haven’t.

and if you’re average is 4p, you aren’t 300% down. statistically it’s impossible to be more than 100% down. a 100% loss would make your investment zero.

IMO things have changed in Mongolia on the ground. They need the oil. Simple as that. They tried to screw us but we’ve resisted. Farm out talks are very close. A massive deal will be signed it’s just a case of being fully loaded when it does. The RNS will drop at 7am and the MMs will gap this up.

Also, imo, pounds and pence will ultimately drive this. I like the fact Buck hasn’t pandered to traders. Tangible earnings and cashflow will give a sustainable rise. And expansion of operations.

I didn’t know that Abz so thanks. Good to know. I suppose the Mongolian have a balance of payments issue which they’ll want to resolve at some point. The sweet spot for any country is to refine your own crude domestically then sell the various oil related products globally. With a 4 million population, that could be a boon for Mongolia.

Each refinery is “geared” towards the API of the crude they will process. So I think they’ll be “geared” towards the API of Mongolian crude. Which is coming from block 20. It’s not so easy to change the refinery specification. And it’s not commonly done.
