You talk as if the market is an all seeing sage. It isn't, it's primarily driven by sentiment and as for the market having a habit of valuing companies fairly, that is plainly absurd. There are endless examples where SPs' of companies, often huge companies, oscillate wildly based on nothing. In 2016, I watched countless mining outfits SPs' crash, I followed Anglo American closely and it went from £20 to £2.50 in the space of a few months. I missed the absolute bottom but did pick up a wedge at £5, £4 & £3 as the 'market' had clearly lost the plot as investors panic sold. Within 6 months, the SP of Anglo was back north of £15. Lets not kid ourselves the 'market' knows anything, it is not an entity, it is simply the manifestation of buyers/sellers actions and the example above is just one of hundreds of similar stories that play out on the market each year.
