A 95% confidence interval is a statistical tool that expresses 95% confidence that the "true" statistical performance of the test is somewhere within the quoted range.

Its a great tool that takes into account the sample size of the study. Lower number of samples gives a wider range and therefore less confidence. Its used to stop manufacturers claiming 100% sensitivity or specificity on a small sample size i.e detected 12 of 12 positives = 100% sensitivity but the 95% CI is crap (too lazy to calculate)

TLDR. Data on the ABC19 is great and the sample size clearly justifies a good 95% CI range giving excellent confidence in the true diagnostic oerformance

I agree MB been in since March and was confident enough with the formation of the RTC and the players involved to make this my first investment. My background in molecular diagnostics certainly guided my decision.

Agree 100% MB. And the last thing a diagnostics company wants to do is launch a test on thin testing numbers and run the risk of the product not performing as well in the wider population/wider demographics.

This is why I'm so confident in the RTC from the outside it looks like process has been followed exactly and we know that the ulster testing numbers were high. more than happy for them to take their time, this is still hugely accelerated for diagnostics!

As ive said very confident in the RTC and i see its requirement scaling higher and higher as we get towards a vaccine. This shares a no brainer just sit back and enjoy the ride.

gell medical devices are one of the most regulated product categories in the world and trials are complex especially for something with multiple subsystems like the RTC product. This timeline is still accelerated as most med devices take a year plus to get through feasibility and development. This one is at end user validation in months.
