I'm new here (managed to by chance sell IAG the day before war after holding since the pandemic) For dividend reinvestment, my calculations show it's better to buy a couple of days before divi payment date and then re-pay myself with the Divi payout, historically this has always been a lower SP than payment date and almost always lower than ex-divi date (plus it would only be a few days to cover the money out)

Anyone else done this, a little more effort, not sure it's worth the upside, I calculate I'll be about 3% better off over 10 years so... Having said that it's only 5 mins setting a buy when you get the divi figure released, twice a year, maybe an hours work over 10 years.

What's the long time holders hold out price? Over 4p I will start to get tempted.

Don't know what those late trades were though, can't work out by the date/time if that is someone really loading up or really offloading.

Looks like a lot of bed and isa moves perhaps? If someone knew big news was coming would they be allowed to do this or would it still be classed as buying on news not available to the open market?

It's been a long while but I didn't sell up, I wonder how many have recently got a few alerts on their watchlist that the money they had written off might not be quite dead yet?! I wouldn't want to be out over this weekend (although would have been nice to get out over the weekends where it hit 9p!)

I could see political reasons to delay the green movement, pushing back electric cars etc If we move now China has won, there isn't even any competition, they are so far ahead in electrification the west/legacy is playing catchup, so why not rubbish electric cars a little bit, don't fast track the infrastructure, drip feed negativity into the press and delay all your targets so that we it does happen (and it will) the west/legacy can at least compete.

Some news is coming I would guess but will it just be the 50% rise and then drop back again that we've had a year of?

If the SP goes up at the moment lots of long term holders will sell so perhaps it's not in CBs interest to shout about the good things.

I mean he probably typed in XRT into lse search instead of XRP and then posted not realising he is on the wrong board

A mistake I think

When I was looking to buy in 2020 the SP was 0.040 and in May this year it hit 0.99 might have gone into the 1p range as well, I just check in ever so often if I'm feeling too happy, it's a good quick kick in the teeth!

I'm not selling at this price with the Gold figures not that far off, I'll think about selling some around then but I'll probably hold until it feels like a funding raise is being looked for (more podcasts and hype!)

I can hold for a few years if needs be, most stocks are pretty bad at the moment (why risk when interests rates are so high) I do kick myself ever few months though, when I bought in here I was weighing up Premier African Minerals or XTR and decided XTR was less risky, at the height of SP this year I would have made over £450,000

I haven't sold any and won't at this level, the chance of this doubling from this current SP seems pretty high so I'm sure there are lots of opportunity elsewhere but anything that is going to 100%+ is going to also be risky (otherwise it would already be there!)

I'm going 3, although perhaps a 4 that it will hit 9 before Nov and then crash back down!

When it gets to that price there will be more shares in issue, I think at the moment it's 100 million = 10p

I don't think anyone knows for sure, as it's one asset rather than the whole company you'd expect the SP to be higher than the sale price

I'll have a lot more free money in 2024 (nursery fees hurt!) so for me I'd see a good situation as, good income from Africa but the markets don't react (so I can do a little bit of averaging down), we continue to drill with no dilution and hit the 2mt and sell end of 2024 or early 2025

That's true, I just wouldn't want a placing to come before the news we are waiting on, I very much doubt it would.

Perhaps Steve has updated his spreadsheet???!!!

CB just got 1 million shares on the open market, wouldn't have been the wise choice if a placing was planned, also FB about to start producing meaningful cash flow so why place now?
