Thanks very much .
https://www.europeanpharmaceuticalreview.com/news/148536/novel-oral-antiviral-for-sars-cov-2-progresses-in-phase-i-trial/
Mr Campbells talk tonight is about the above linked new Pfizer antiviral. There are 2 drugs on offer ,both yet to start p1 trial and both he hopes will be available by November . HOW ?? These drugs are not repurposed .They are novel.
JC goes on to detail how these drugs work ( sorry ,I could not grab the youtube link ) . Very promising he adds and towards the end of video he mentions that there are no anti viral currently available and then ( please confirm if you agree) ,his speech slows down to a mutter as he describes that governments will not sanction trials on repurposed anti viral and maybe we should all ask our MPs why . I swear I could feel him wanting to mention SGN001 but its as if he has deliberately been muted on the drug..
Now if you've read my previous post on J C I have sarcastically criticised him for A, bulking at the cost after publicly endorcing the potential as exciting and promising and
B, never following up on the drug after 8 months since that video .
Today he goes out on a limb to spell out he hopes Pfizer is successful REGARDLESS of what they charge . Thats very odd in itself but my disdain for him baulking at our cost of 2k and his sabbatical of 8 months to discuss any anti viral led me to had he been influenced by " Others" ( go on ,I will even mention conspiracy again) . Tonight's video and those mumbling breaks in speech pattern ( where i was screaming to put Synairgen on his lips) makes me more convinced than ever something has gone on but I don't think its on JC at all. He is a very experienced medical expert so why would he say phase1 to start with drug on shelf expectancy on around November this year although he goes on to say that is optimistic later on in the video when he discusses the second antiviral ( Again scheduled for November release) ?
See what you think and if you think there isn't anything in it, I'll take this tinfoil wrapped cullinder off my head and go to bed .
Could someone provide the link to the video please ?
Oak. I think news that one of the hamsters had triplets would be massive news at this moment .
IMHO RM yes because he is not an academic .SH no because he is an academic and the original primary endpoint is COPD and I think he has a more than comfortable standard of living given his expected life expectancy.. May I also ask do we know which particular academic ( RM referred to him/ her without name) who was the "workaholic" mainly responsible for SGN001.
Ghia ,
I don't hold the same views as Andy or yourself for that matter .I don't have enough info to form a view ( maybe that leans to Andy but not intentionally )
However , you do state that you manage and expect "Frequent feedback " but dont expect interim feedback in between . Surely you don't need interim if you are getting " Frequent " feedback? . Thats the whole point ,you are being kept upto date on events as planned to occur.
As there are no firm dates on any results , or p3 progression on activ2., Information must be provided on an "as and when received " basis .
Information on scale up will be concrete . Production orders with drug and neb and package distribution ( Home use) should be at an advanced stage and firm not subject to approval .I can't imagine you can book production slots on " confirmation subject to approval" .
Synairgen have in theory £30 mil for start up plus a potential £10 mil that was saved from reduced p3 size .
We know this drug can keep for 5 years .We know this formulation of drug is to be used to trial COPD . I will hazard a guess and say the nebs have a 2 year shelflife so,
Is it unreasonable to expect Synairgen to have ordered 2k courses and 2k nebs ? That is definite news and could be reported to boost investor confidence knowing if there is bad news then the supply can be repurposed for COPD .
Please don't take this as derogatory criticism Ghia . I can see pros and cons for both sides of the argument .
My original post highlighted that events unfolding as they are may well make me more money or not .
You are right Andy . I guess nerves are projected out differently and we are all pretty nervous whether consciously or subconsciously. . I love the scientific knowledge displayed on here .I would imagine that there are a few on here that enjoy contributing yet have no share holding as the thought of medical R&D for gain mortifies then and goes against principle . There will be people who invest for good as well as gain .Do these people wrestle with their conscience knowing that at $2k a pop ,not enough people will benefit from the drug ?Don't know ,Don't care tbph. Each to their own and I think ramping and deramping are essential to try and maintain a sense of balance . If the majority favour a certain approach then that is understandable that their views are more prominent . In either case ( pos / neg )) it is not acceptable to sling abuse at people who don't favour your opinion because that's all both parties have at this stage of the game ,opinion .
There are no doubters on here ,otherwise they'd be out.
There are only nervous investors ,
The recent criticism of Richard Marsden is justified.! He's done a lousy job and he has cost us all thousands .
Then again , Richard Marsden is a class act who has superbly navigated this company to the big leagues!.
Nobody knows at this point in time which statement is true.
I am sat on the fence on this because quite simply .." I just don't know"
But what I do know is the prospect of this project failing was always possible and I was / am prepared to take the risk but
Now the way things are panning out , I may well make more money out of this as it looks from here on that all my intentions ( because I am way way over exposed ) to top slice at £2 /£3/£4 will go out of the window. Thats because it now looks like results and scale-up news will come so thick and fast ,there will be no justification to top slice as we will know that to do so will cost profits that you didn't need to secure or relinquish, as the share is on the up and on the up at pace . The prospect of failure would have passed and the decisions turn to when to sell off , and/ or how much dividend could this produce if joint venture is the way forward and you hold on . I would have preffered the £2.50 / £ 6.99 last Christmas ( who said that lol ?)/ & TO @ £ ??? But that never happened for what ever reason ,it doesn't matter now .
So , for me personally , those early top slice expectations have disappeared . Subject to positive news ,I am committed to going all the way or until such time as all my options are lucrative and risk free. .
As I say I am not praising or condemning R M for this predicament ( only time will tell ) ,its just the way it is at this moment in time .. I am only in this for the money and its all my own fault if it wins or fails . If SNG001 saves lives then that is a pleasant bi- product to my investment . I own no other shares in covid pharma .In a few months there will be many treatments and vaccines .Thats science and buisness .
Remember, that for the 21% ( given p2 ) that this drug doesn't work on ,they will need alternatives .I hope there's something available for them too. Good fortune to all involved and invested.. we didn't donate , we invested so deserve the fruits without reservations .I have none anyway.
Just a reminder what we're in this for ( at least me anyway)
https://www.evaluate.com/vantage/articles/data-insights/ma/biopharma-buyouts-still-pricey
Unlike the vaccines we do not have multi billion £/$ pre - orders .
To be honest I've been quite content drinking bleach as per tango mans advice and apart from coughing up blood everyday and acute organ failure ,I am happy to report I am covid free ( touch wood).
Prefer the old chip shop fat version myself .It really makes a difference in running costs .
If the news was devastatingly dissapointing I'd rather be trying desperately to get out at £2 plus than £1.40 or less .If you are 100% convinced results are positive then agree SP doesn't matter . I am in the plus £2 brigade personally so the lowere SP concerns me .
Thanks sparkle and the rest of you guys for intelligent reasoning and cross reasoning .At this stage I don't know who is right and who is wrong .I don't really care either but all party's giving their opinion without condescending each other which is how debate should be .. Carry on Macduff chaps ,loving it .
Welcome ,and good post .
Bruce , You and others throw the word de- ramper/deramping around on this BB like Puritans from the 17 th century shouted
"Witch".. 62300 shares in Synairgen would be my defence against your accusation , You mentioned 3 positive endorsements of synairgen . Yes 3 in a whole year and you mentioned your MP knowing about Syn and that his chums in Parliament do also.. That would've carried more weight if it had been a MP in opposition rather than a "Chum" himself.
Their knowing of the company was never in dispute . As for the
PS addended post ,I already mentioned that the company was " known" in the worldwide bio industry so it was totally unnecessary. .
I posted that I was annoyed with that article because I felt it almost ( my feeling alone) deliberately fell short of acknowledging a treatment days or weeks away from approval in some form . My personal feeling was that poor research is not a valid excuse for not mentioning inhaled interferon treatment in that piece .
Thanks for posting ,however I find that piece annoying rather than interesting . The lady speaks about how the concept of using two viruses is flawed ,then excitingly she moves on to suggest a nasal spray but again specifies that this research is some way off ,but you can't tell me this woman is totally oblivious to the " FInal" testing being carried out on a treatment that achieves interferon replenishment and then some ?
The learned on here make repeated rebuke of any conspiracy theory against Synairgen but myself as a mere humble investor can only see " evidence " ( circumstantial maybe) of conspiracy. Horby's comments on Holgate, this article, questions to MPs etc but mostly the hundreds of articles and comments from the corridors of power and media "NOT" mentioning inhaled interferon when discussing forth coming treatments .. As I type this out now the BBC are referring to potential treatments for long covid being researched by Cambridge University. I can no longer accept that the extremely promising covid treatment that is almost amongst us and most probably will be unleashed on the world in mass ,and all invented by a team of 14 from Southampton ,is not national news .It is international news in the bio world but here ? What ? A jumped up couple of professor's with a jumped up nano tiny company with the audacity to try and sit on the top table and disrupt commercial science ? " we'll hear none of it"
Is " Integrity " rather than " Palm greasing" a naive virtue in the world of Biotech ( or any asset class for that matter)?
Do the people at the top in this world ever have trouble sleeping at night with the decisions they make ?
In my very short time(10 months) in biotech ( synairgen) investing and the rather dubious reputation that AIM companies have ,I suspect not .
This happens regularly on fidelity as I posted last week .I was up £9k then poof its gone .
Then 2 orders placed at £287 k a few seconds apart so looks like 2 orders ?
