Lawrence Hughes: There are three types of hydrogen at the moment: grey, blue and green. We’re working on the green hydrogen. For example the government is building a green hydrogen facility at a windfarm in East Renfrewshire so green hydrogen is coming along. It’s really difficult, because there is not a single piece of hydrogen-powered cooking equipment in the marketplace.
The only equipment is what we’ve built and are testing, along with consultative partners, and it is for the green hydrogen. You’re quite right, grey hydrogen is a no go because it’s been outlawed, blue hydrogen is greenwashing I guess – and they actually look to bury all the CO2 that is produced from the manufacturing of blue hydrogen.
