Can anyone confirm that is the RMS facemask...looks a slightly different design?

poorinvestor, I know that's true for the wearer , but not sure if that works for the multiple patients on the 'outside' of the masks.

I have a question you can help me with as a doctor.
If the masks are purchased and worn by NHS staff would they need to dispose of a mask and put on a new mask in between every Covid patient (I assume this is done on 'ordinary' masks at the moment). Or can the mask be continually worn while visiting multiple patients?
As the protective/killer layer is within the mask the wearer is protected, however I am not sure if any virus on the outside of the mask would be potentially exhaled/blown off when going to the next patient.

Stating they are worthless is not helping his point.

I want a cost effective and reliable mask that meets the required safety levels to protect NHS staff (I'm guessing the existing mask are not substandard ...that would be a scandal!).
I would want these provided by a company with a track record of reliable delivery of high quantity mask orders and at a greatly reduced cost to retail......these criteria will have already been met in the current suppliers.

Why would I change form my current reliable manufacturer to a company that is 3/4 months behind on producing A mask?
3 or 4 years down the line if the mask has been reliably produced and the cost to the NHS is very minimal per mask they may have a shot....but the NHS will not swap for an upstart company at this point.

poorinvestor…...no the masks will be constantly replenished by the new masks provided my the manufacturers who already have the multi year contracts.
there is no evidence or proof that there is a sniff of a NHS or other major contract....happy for a link to evidence to be posted to prove me wrong.
All the company has confirmed is discussions with interested parties...which to be honest is what every sales team in the world has..does not mean large orders are imminent

So you think the NHS have only signed mask contracts for the next 3 months.....ha ha ha
They will have signed a multi-year contract in all likelihood as to not risk future supplies.
The party is over, contracts are signed, everyone has gone home to make their masks and RMS have just arrived and walked through the door to an empty hall.

Retail will be c£1.40 so cost to the retailer will be 30p per mask to RMS .
So 150million+ masks to get £50m income
And that's not including costs for manufacturing, marketing, distribution & other expenses.

Happy for anyone to counteract this (but just expect shouting no and giving abuse).

uxm does have a good point, now £50m mcap…..need to sell 150m+ masks to justify that.

Current capacity c1.5m / month as they are running one shift (once they actually confirm they have started)
It's an easy maths problem to see the current mcap is hard to justify at this time.

This marketing is going to have to be amazing to stand out from the thousands of mask suppliers

And until a deal is signed it is not doe.
If the one party is the preferred bidder , then I am sure that CB would not have shut the door completely on interested party no 2, just in case the first party deal falls through.
Always good to have a fallback position and the ability to invite another bid....so there may be interested parties still....just one preferred bidder.
