A RTO is usually funded via asset swaps. What’s in it for BP? Well, we’ll have to see exactly but certainly a de-risked operations base. And at a relatively cheap cost to itself. As shareholders of a small company, we’ll feel we have gained something for nothing. Ah, the joys of capitalism!

On Serica and reverse takeovers.... . A reverse takeover is the takeover by a smaller company of assets larger than it originally commands. A large SP hike is inevitable. I was in Serica before and after, eventually selling in the high 70s after the first dip. It is really hard for MMs to set a price after a reverse takeover and usually they will aim for the lower end as it’s lower risk for them. We’re likely to see at least a 30% or so hike AFTER trading resumes at the initial hiked price. SQZ’s production was expected to double or triple. Here I am reading a 700% hike. Well, we’ll see. Of course the deal may not come off in the end. But GLA. From what I can see SDX has great management and that counts for so much. Just as SQZ has.

The reason this is going down is because it was a speculative rise in the first place rather than a rise based on fundamentals. No fundamentals activity at the top of the chart and no obvious sign there is going to be any, so why hold?

What’s the sweepstake looking like?

It’s been some time since I’ve had a large holding in a share and just been content to sit and wait. And it isn’t just speculation but good, solid news flow with an active board (as in BoD).

I wouldn’t be surprised at a 90p hit in a month...

Hope it’s not too late to join the sweepstake. My guess is 10 November. These things take civil servants at least six months to sort. With the recess in mid June, and elections in September, bad news (for it will be that for the Sami) will be palatable at the start of a government’s sitting. They’ll have the answer around a month after the elections but the official announcement will take around a month to prepare. Thus 10 November. If earlier, I’ll buy a round.

There are times when I wonder if I’ve made the right call to invest here having sold my SQZ holding after tripling my stake, but re-reading the really useful comments from posters here reassured me that smart investors wouldn’t invest in a sucker company. Look at some other boards and comments are dross. I’ve only made a few percent over the last few days having bought on a hunch and on news (erm, not the best strategy I know) but after more research myself, with a bit of patience, I’ll be able to realise the upside here and reckon I could probably double my investment by year out. GLA.

I’d say at least 80p. I’d be looking at the high 90s given the backdrop of positive sentiment. Maybe not by the end of today exactly but soon enough.

I see that all the 68’s marked red this morning (as sells) are in fact buys. I know because I’m one of them..and at 68 exactly at 8.41.

I never understood why this wasn’t one of Malcy’s top picks for 2017 or 2018.. . SQZ have completely outperformed the sector. I agree this will rise again so riding out the dip is a good investment strategy. Others (traders) will be nervous (I’m guessing) and jump until we get a better entry point in a few weeks/months. Nevertheless the SP seems to be holding up well this am! So many unknowns! In the meantime, others (eg SDX) are finding new oil..... . GLA.

Okay, I’ve been in and out and now I’m back in. Apart from getting close to a previous high (pre oil and gas finds), what’s the down side here? Slightly odd to see lack of market reaction to oil find onshore in low production cost area, away from civil conflict..... .

I couldn’t make up my mind and sold in the end! Better banked profit than lost it all. Oh well, missed call this time. Good luck to all holders anyway.

Definitely a purchase. The MM will have sold at that price (look at the price for the other buys and sells at the end of yesterday and the big spread this am - too much uncertainty from the MM’s pov to encourage more buys having the unfulfilled trade on his books). The mm will have sold not necessarily having all the shares to sell. Hence their position. He booked the trade when he actually accumulated all the shares, hence the creep up in price this am.
