Canary78 - Hey mate! Good to see ya! Personally, I think where there is quality and good fundamentals, it can only go up. Lots of traders made some money this week and banked their profits - but it's only around 10%. Ok, better than the building society, but my target here is around 320p. So I'm not bothering with trading here. I'll ride out the dips. With the summer rolling on, vaccine passports, pent up demand etc, everything around IAG can only get better. GLA!

Samplemix62 - you're right of course. But I guess people are watching the slide or bailiing out with the expectation that they can get in much lower. The difficulty is that a lot of people jumped in for a quick buck. They'll be panicking. And selling eventually at a lower price if they haven't already. I reckon this won't look good for at least another month - or two. It may even touch IPO price. And then, when the bottom is hit, watch the spike! It'll be nuts all over again.

Oaktree - Yes. Personally I don't think Baylan is an idiot/useless etc. I don't think he cares one way or another which way this goes. But for the sake of chewing the cud with you, I'd say that he probably welcomes the political ease with which he approved the mine, because, yes, it satisfies at least two new lobbies (greens+iron workers), which helps rebalance the political digestibility of allowing a mine on 'Sami land'. I even wonder whether he is hopiing for a negative from UNESCO ("it doesn't impact") to make the go ahead for the mine politically easier for himself, or even a neutral "nowt to do with us", in which case he can say if UNESCO doesn't care, why should he? I wonder whether this is all part of some grand plan where he is finally hailed as the best 'Enterprise Minister' Sweden ever had - and making more friends than enemies along the way?

You can sense Budge is really wanting to put the boot in!!! It's effin' insane! I have to say at these prices, it is really worth a punt for anyone considering. Risk is flaking away with the establishment of that steel plant. How on earth can the Swedish Goverment refuse clean iron ore from 100 miles away in preference of dirty imported ore, consuming so much diesel in the ships, day in, day out, year in, year out? It would be absolutely insane from a green pov to deny Kallak now! Baylan has always said it's a battle of competing interests, but the steel plant just adds weight in favour of the Kallak mine! It certainly doesn't take any away! Anyway, go in peace brethren.

Canary78 - They're good questions and I guess if anyone had the actual answers for this share they'd be really rich. I can talk about strategy though. I've lost a lot of money in the past, I've still got some shares that I should have sold 10/20 years ago but they're so low, they're not worth selling. But I've since learnt some lessons. And my strategy these days is a lot more solid. These 'tips' are plastered all over the place, so I won't bore you. But I will say this: in the past, I've continued to hold when something is falling, only to watch it fall more. I could have sold and bought back in later. I could have sold at a loss, but bought back in later at an even lower price, so actually increasing my holding and multiply the effect of the subsequent rise! The battle in share trading is often against oneself. Working out what you really think. Working out if you're just being greedy (that's always a failing strategy). Working out if you're following the crowd (bad) or following your own instincts/knowledge (good). One piece of advice I'll share for free (and the best advice I ever got from someone in the thick of it all) was that trading is not about maximising profit but minimising losses. That's a tough one. But it's a big one. GLA

(1) (with a falling price) I can see that buys outnumber sells. Look - it says so on the list of trades! More blues than reds! (actual meaning - I don't know what I'm doing)
(2). This is the bottom. I can see loads of buys coming in (actual meaning - I'm panicking because I'm losing money. Please someone, buy some to keep the share price up)
(3) The fundamentals of this company are fantastic. It's a £(insert random valuation) company! (actual meaning - I'm ramping here and want people to believe my rubbish.)
(4) I've heard a rumour etc. (actual meaning - I'm here to rip you off and I think you're daft enough to believe me)
Plenty more ridiculous comments. GLA and don't believe everything you see on these boards. Recovery stocks are doing well atm. IMHO. ;-)

All of a sudden, it feels like everyone's left the room! Zero posts and it's already nearly 10.15 am! Has everyone already sold?

With respect to the day traders, this feels like an odd point to trade the margins on this one. Our vaccine programme is up and running, the US reckons it'll have vaccine enough for every US citizen by end of May, massive pent up demand, sure the margins of the business will take time to heal, but the core and beyond to the margins are going to recover quicker than you can say "whoosh". And the short position will soon close! So why would you stress with a finger on the mouse? Kick back, just look at the screen every day or so, and watch your investment rise as we return to normality! Things always happen a couple of months ahead on the stock market at least. British Airways is back! The pandemic is over. Only good news on the way. Only bad news can tilt this one, and there isn't likely to be anything worse than the news of the last 18 months. Up and up she'll go.

If anyone has any info on how Baylan dealt with that question that RUNE1 posted the other day, that'd be a welcome.

Errrrm - I mean a quid a share profit, obviously. I expect it'll settle down at 320p in around August.

It's a case of bad news out of the way. Fundamentals are good. The only way is up. I'm in long term. Easily a quid a share here for me.

GHOST247 -When a stock is traded, it is listed reasonably quickly as a trade. But there is always a time lag. So if it is sold, say at 15p (say 15p to sell and 15.5p to buy) and the price is dropping, then by the time it is listed, it looks like the price it was traded at was the 'buy' price - because by that time it is 14.5p to sell and 15p to buy). So an actual sell gets listed as a buy. Whatever you do, DON'T look at the trades as buys or sells here as given. It is a 'bot' that determines if they are blue or red dependent on whether the (dated) listed price is more similar to the (current) buy or sell price. Geddit?

No. Geordie Shores is completely wrong. Don't get stung. The figures for bought v sold are completely off! Sometimes trades happen but are logged with a lag. Often in a heavily traded market. Here, in a rapidly falling market, you may have sold shares for 18p at 0900, but if they get logged at 0910, and the price has dropped, your sold shares will show as a 'buy'. So whatever you do, don't ever, ever use these figures as a basis from which you make an investment decision! You are going to lose lots of money that way. It's trading 101!

Rune 1: It's a good question in that it's straightforward and relevant to BEM's case. It opens up plenty of space to pull him apart. It'll be interesting to see how he deals with this.
