I was on the fence, but thanks to some good posts here from the likes of IceCool etc., I relented this morning and bought in! I feel quite smug, though about what, I don't know. But given the position Wood is. in, I sort of don't care and am just enjoying the feeling. Thanks guys for some useful, constructive discussion and links to useful articles.. Much appreciated.

Sharebel - I agree with you to an extent, but tbh, there is time to make some money. Any cash call won't come for six months at least. There'll be a new CFO appointed in the meantime which will boost the SP. The board will continue to identify good news stories. And so on. All that will push the SP closer to 40p - A decent mark up to today's SP.. The trend is up so follow the trend. Any nervousness about last week's rise would have shown this morning... . Quite possibly the refinancing will be straightforward. It was successfully managed at IAG. Could happen here. And then, with news that the Deloitte points have been addressed as well as other points, it'll be a proper recovery play... .

Well, the trend is up, and after all, this was oversold. There's a decent 30% at least to be had here.... .

D9Ber1/IAG LT - Spot on. Look what happened with Jet Hols - 10% profit growth, but demand facing headwinds, resulting in SP crash by 10%. I have to admit I bailed last week. Complete derisk, but ready to jump back in on Friday depending on exactly those comments... .

An Icecool assessment! I like it and it sounds like the sort of thing I'd usually say. Here, I'd add the other problem is incompetence. Gilmartin has been CEO for, how many, three years? If we compare to a recovery play like RR, Erginbilic was responsible for the turnaround - "If it doesn't make money, we don't do it" was the message he transmitted through the company. I agree with everything you say Icecool, but the question I still have is, if the person who got us here is still in place, what's going to change to get us out, if not that person? Is it a temporary hit or a symptom of an endemic sickness.. ? It feels like more of a struggle than it needs to be. A new CEO would be good - as happened at RR. Clean the decks... .

Earlier this month, Pew Research found that 54% of Americans have an unfavourable view of Musk, including 37% that responded "very unfavourable". Given that the people who are likely to buy an EV are Climate change believing, do gooding democrats, I'd wager that is Musks US customer base completely gone now! Plenty of stuff on social media saying people are going to do that. If I could be bothered aka knew how to do it with minimal effort, I'd short Tesla now.

A takeover at this stage is absolutely nonsense. A potential bidder doesn’t look at the share price on Tuesday and say, oh that’s cheap, and bid on a Friday. You have to understand that the SP being low is the result of many, many experts making very calculated guesses about the direction this will go. It doesn’t mean it’s a bargain. As a pension fund etc you’ll try to offload it first before someone else because everyone will come to the conclusion regarding risk at pretty much the same time. A bid would need to be fair and reflect NAV, as well as a host of other factors including debt. You may get a bid but it won’t be because the SP is low. It’ll be because someone sees a valuable addition to their own business because they’ve been looking at it a long time - in which case a bid is just as likely to have materialised months/years ago. Or it’ll be an asset strip. Someone may come along and buy parts of the business when/if it’s wound up. But a bid by Monday? Ha!

Hi Laura - WG - Nope. Not just yet. I'm going to see if there's a Friday afternoon sell off for a short term punt (there's a lot of PIs trading... ). Maybe I'll buy in, maybe not. Long term it looks a bit risky as it's lost a lot of goodwill so may not be able to refinance debt, so may wind up going bust. But maybe not... . IAG found a way out. Not Marconi though. CWR look like they're going to be on the ropes soon too but of course, good to be there for the bounce... . I'll take a look at those others you suggest. All the best, T

Just because it's fun to talk about this stuff!!...... . It's sooo tight! Bid/offer look ready to break up on.. my guess.. around £8k (top end estimate) or less of buys? Could even be, and more likely to be, £4k. But it won't take much. Lol!

Remember Marconi? Tragic. It even was in the UK's strategic interest to keep Marconi alive (and we, the UK, paid and are paying, the price). Loads of PIs lost a lot of money by believing there'd be some sort of buy out.... .

I imagine that the next peak will be beyond the 3.2p of last week. Plenty of buys in the mid 2 pence's. You want a decent return and are going to hold on for longer than if you bought in the late 1 pence's. Rises tomorrow I reckon, but with the main action next week - to late 3 pence's... .

Icecool - You're right, it isn't the debt per se - but the provision of debt could be an issue for exactly the reasons you cite! Certainly many major holders have sold up. So if there is a placement/fund raise, it ain't gonna be pretty... .

Hi LOTM - It doesn't mention Mirriad. It mentions another company did the VPP - 'Seven.One AdFactory '. What IP does Mirriad actually uniquely own? There appear to be other companies doing the same thing. Also, the article that was published yesterday - it's a trial to show the effectiveness of VPP. The major company haven't a contract with Mirriad for Mirriad to supply advertising, right? Happy to be corrected. Thanks!
