With every passing day...4 Feb 2021 08:13
.. it's getting closer.
There is lots of news pending… getting closer with every passing day.
There has been a recognisable shift change in the social media comms, with Omega and Walbrook stepping up the game, which is great to see.
There’s also a shift change in the news, in general, and in the public domain about LFTs and the benefits they bring to testing.
Deeks has got back in his box, the BMJ acknowledge that LFTs have a part to play in the Covid testing strategy.
And there is strong support in the US for pushing forward with LFT rapid testing, in an approach to get life back to some sort of normality.
Omega are fully funded. At the end of September, they had already set aside ~£4m to see them through the expansion programme, and on top of that had £7m in the bank.

“There is no placing”
So that’s quite a backdrop to what Omega have, and planned to have, available to meet the increased and continued demand for Covid… and more.
* Covid - UK-RTC – The ABC-19 test is good to go. Abingdon and Omega have confirmed they are manufacturing and stock piling. Abingdon are openly promoting the product. Feb 14th is when the current DHSC framework agreement expires. From that date the RTC can, and most likely will, bid to fulfil further UK gov tenders, and also look to supply other interested parties (at higher profit margin). MHRA self-test approved is an interesting one to look for too. Is it or isn’t it?
* Covid - Visitect triple antibody test sales (looks to be selling in the public domain already, but we’re yet to be told in what numbers and at what profit)
* Covid - ELISA antibody testing – Omega have gained approval to provide this in a lab service model. Pricing TBC, but social media yesterday claiming upwards of £30 (source unknown)
* Covid – Completion of TT & CE mark and confirmation of orders for Antigen LFT (Are due “early in the new year”) – Recent updates from BigJock, following conversations with Colin, confirm this is still on plan.
And then the non-Covid stuff:
* Visitect CD4 sales (Pepfar continue to promote the Visitect CD4 test - https://www.treatmentactiongroup.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/gc_bc_webinar_advanced_hiv_disease_r_makar.pdf)
* Food detective sales (China and US Sales, in particular)
Expected pricing for each test:
* Covid - UK-RTC - £1.50 @50% margin (taken from 15th July presentation. We have been told since that for the initial UK gov order the margin was slightly higher)
* Covid – Antigen LFT test - £5 per test @50% margin (taken from 15th July presentation)
* Covid – ELISA lab test – Pricing TBC
* Visitect CD4 - $4 per test @70% margin (taken from 30th November presentation)
* Food detective sales - $15.50 per test @70% margin (taken from 30th November presentation)
* Covid - Visitect triple antibody test - £3.20 @50% margin (taken from 15th July presentation)
