There is no current evidence to suggest the new strain causes a higher mortality rate or that it affects vaccines and treatments although urgent work is underway to confirm this.

There is a lot more news heading our way. This is just the first step. A huge step I grant you. The FDA fast track should not be underestimated and the new primary endpoints. The sooner this drug is saving many lives the better.
