One of the best podcasts I've come across.
I'm hooked on the sector so I'm not necessarily a neutral, but I found it totally absorbing from start to finish.
As a footnote, it seems likely that GS were basing their projections not on recession, but from increased supply from a magic lithium tree. Just bizarre.

Been reading a lot of chatter around GS Li article.
Seems to me GS appear rather arrogant airing there god given thoughts that nobody should dare question. Jog on GS back to your 'specialist' area, which appears to be steering the masses to where you want them. Bet their picking up ASX li stock right now.
For anyone versed in the space, they are soundly trumped by Benchmark.

I still don't agree with their take on Lithium, but note their thoughts regards recession

I note your point on point 1, and agree its a very valid consideration/ possibility.
I also don't think GS have based their strange predictions on that happening, added to which it remains just that, a possibility
I think predicting recession with any certainty is impossible - too many unknowns e.g war duration

I think GS may end up regretting writing this
I think they've jumped from 'Li is abundant in the word', which it is, to 'we're oversupplied'.
They appear lightly researched (which is surprising) and have missed the meaty bit in the middle about permitting / other enablers that result in a timeline to create a mine of years. OEMs need the gear now. Forget whats buried all over the place in the earths crust, most of its staying there.

I think that where GS either haven't researched properly and don't understand, or choose to proport a narrative that suits themselves i.e say one thing do another
I have no particular view, I don't know enough about them, but if they're as smart as peeps say, its the latter

Don't know if anyone saw the article over weekend. they appear bearish on Lithium short/ med term.
One assumes they have their reasoning
I accede it could negatively impact the market. A possible negative

While this sits anything in the 40s I think its spring loaded
theres half a dozen near term and very real catalysts at play right now

Is it fair to say they'll want in at a bit of a disco (because they could just buy on the open market), the trade off being smooth mine license application? Personally I think a little dilution in the spirit of 'giving back' is acceptable

FWIW I think we're more valuable to PLL than some would have us believe, and PLL are flying again, so whats going on here ?

for better for worse I sold 2 other shares today and loaded more here this morning
In light of recent news, I've come to a settled personal opinion on where this is headed.
Each to their own.
In context, I made a decision, but nothing is a 'no brainer'. That is a term I do not believe in, and never use. gl
