I first bought in Dec 24, 88,000 in total and had my pants properly pulled down. These shysters have done a real number on those who bought with honest intentions. It’s fraud, they clearly knew there were issues with accounting and liquidity but, they kept silent. The FT was thinking of running a story about it but got cold feet, I may ask why and if they fancy having another go. More to the point, where is my fkin money, are these same shysters going to leave it until COB Fri, the last possible date they must pay by. Absolute w⚓️S.

What a shame. The current situation in Venezuela is a massive opportunity for service companies like WG. A US buyer could pimp WG out to help resurrect their oil industry and make billions in the process. Timing is everything I guess.

GRaff, 99% is stretching reality a bit, there’s also 99% chance the 30p could go through and a 99% chance the whole thing could blow up and collapse in to a pile of ashes. “The first half of 2026” is vague and potentially a long way off but nothing is certain until everything is certain. I am reckless at the best of times but I wouldn’t bet a penny more on a successful outcome here.

Well, the FT is showing forecasts of 45p median and 65p high target as at 27 Nov. This isn’t over until the court case is completed and with no clear date for when that is, speculation of a potential rival bidder or collapse of the deal will continue. If you don’t need the money, I’d hit the snooze button.

i can’t understand why some posters aren’t grasping reality. there are no rival bidders, its too late, that ship has sailed, the train has left the station, its a deal, its a steal, its sale of the ******* century. i’m currently 48% down on my investment but, i’m taking some crumbs of comfort that i’ve still got 52% left and that will increase in the new year. time to move on peeps. i was kicking myself all those years ago when wg was first approached and the share price passed my buy in point. i’ve recently kicked myself even harder for buying the dip following their decision to reject those offers. i’m getting over it and some on this board should do the same. you win some, you lose some, i wish it weren’t the way, but it is.

Why would analysts be offering these sort of estimates when the sale price is 30. Very odd but I’m sure someone will have an explanation.

I was looking forward to the relisting of this share as it made my portfolio look a little less catastrophic but, be careful what you wish for as the saying goes. With the relisting has come the endless BS from rampers and derampers as well as the inevitable pump and dump. I can’t wait for this share to be put to bed one way or t’other as it’s making me sick. Good luck to all those with a similar view and the rest, try rolling a joint and listening to some pan pipes, it’ll help you relax.

Ice, I would love this to be an incendiary moment but I can’t see how appointing a serial failure, a mediocrity, will move the dial. It’s another own goal, another sign that the company has no fight left. The company is in the 💩, there’s no denying that, appointing this toad shows a real lack of ambition to add to the mess.

If the answer is Torrens, WTF was the question. He was sacked from TalkTalk soon after the serial failure Dido Harding was sacked. He was CFO during multiple data breaches and, while the company was leaking subscribers and the companies debt issues. A low rent stuffed suit replacement for an utter disgrace of a CEO. The executives at WG have shot themselves in the foot so many times recently, they must be running short of ammunition.

The lack of quality British management is remarkable. From rejecting £2.30/share to recommending 30p in a matter of months. Incompetence is one way of putting it, negligence bordering on criminal is another.

This is a disgusting mess, hit after hit has taken this share down to a miserable level that beggars belief. If the government wishes to encourage retail investors to throw their hard earned cash into UK stocks, they will need to stop this sort of disaster taking place. The management of this company should have criminal charges brought against them for the wilful destruction of investors capital. Someone mentioned Rolls Royce as a company that was taken from the brink of collapse to a good investment. The reason for this was a change in the CEO in 2023. The unimaginative old school tie British CEO was replaced by a Turkish technocrat with a great eye for detail. This company is another example of how poor British management has become. The sooner I can get this pile of dung off my portfolio the better, the massive loss will haunt me but not as much as seeing any of the current set of W⚓️s managing again.

And why wouldn’t they. This company has been run into the ground by the inept and naive management. If they can get it at a further reduced rate and save all those jobs that would otherwise be lost, good for them. I have/will lose a significant amount of money but, I still have my job and a salary coming in, it was my choice for right or wrong, those whose jobs are in the balance were simply passengers on some subprime managers vanity bus ride.

i’ve had a busy morning so missed the drop. this is turning out to be a pile of dung. it’s one **** up after another. i’ll hold for what appears a very long term but, i don’t see a sale with all this mismanagement hanging over it.

Evan’s, according to the FT: WG consulting arm is worth $1 bn and would wipe the majority of their debt out if sold. However, WG want to sell the business as whole, according to people close to the company. I think their days of independence are over whether that’s as a result of an offer from Sid, someone else or a merger.

This isn’t a done deal until the deal is done. Be wary of the words Potential, Proposal and Conditional. IMO they indicate an element of risk that the wheels could still come off this, especially if the governance issue is insurmountable.

Where is your evidence that the board do not want a sale? The FT, a respected news outlet, specialising in global finance thinks differently.

The people said the consulting business could be valued at more than £1bn, enough to right-size the parent company’s debt load now that an equity raise would be challenging.

But the board’s preference was to sell the entire company, two people familiar with the talks said, putting Sidara in pole position. (FT 24 Feb 2025)

This is very simple. As posted in the FT recently:

WG are keen to sell the company as a whole, Sidara are back, they’re clearly keen to buy, are being taken seriously this time and they’re in the driving seat. It’s a little like a fantastic brothel I know in Cologne: if you step through the door, you’re there for one thing and you have the resources to pay for it, the ladies are there to sell and are very keen so, a deal is inevitable, it’s just a case of how much. After a round of drinks a little entertainment money is exchanged and all parties are happy. Be interesting to know if they’re at the drinks stage or entertainment.

I sold out here a few months ago for a small profit but have been monitoring. Great news for the lth here, I hope the exports start shortly and GKP can start to climb past the 250 mark. I’m due some news on one of my investments shortly and, if favourable, I’ll have another flutter here. 👍🏻

Apollo said that about Morrisons, however, they did throw a bid in as part of a consortium, they lost that one. I wouldn’t write off them making a bid if there’s any foolishness from Sid.
