Dogger - I hope you manage to find a solution for your current predicament, no matter how bad things remember there are always options so don't consider doing anything drastic.

I'm down a similar amount but believe the share will come good in the long term so fingers crossed, that initial drop made my heart sink. I've also come to terms with the fact I may lose it but I always remind myself of the slogan you always read i.e. may go down as well as up .

I've considered selling my shares but I'm going to stick with it for now.

Given human nature , surely Vernon and co can't be happy to see their baby ripped to shreds, for them it's more then money at stake here. Personal pride and legacy, saying that I'm not a billionaire, millionaire so I'm just guessing/ hoping.

That's a fair point and will be interesting from a results perspective.

As a holder I'm trying to take a balanced view.. seen to many rocket ships, hear we go, shorters burned threads on here to only see it go the other way.

I really want all of these to be true but have resigned myself to this being a slow burner provided there are no more disasters. I also hope all the people such as Dogger get their money back

Use Twitter to keep an eye on some of the analyst views on Metro, personally don't look on Facebook but know it is spread.

Sadly the average joe will not research and will believe anything they are told, share and forward and people start rumours and panic.

I'm wondering if I am missing something fundamental here.

FCA (I can't see them wanting to destroy them, slap on the knuckles hopefully), if it was that bad wouldn't the CEO?CFO be gone by now?

I appreciate the struggles they have had but is this enough to kill them, profit margins are tight but this should grow as long as they get their house in order.

My view of this is the CEOs are usually fairly bright people, we are all frustrated but they cannot say anything in the quiet period. I know this from my own organisation and quiet period, have great stock options and wishing I could sell as I know the results. It's the rules of the game though.

This has been a learning experience for me, I got lucky on a few other stocks which made me over confident. I'm down around 30 - 35k here. I will make it back with my salary/bonus but this has taught me a valuable lesson.

Saying that, when I look at Metro. I appreciate their are issues but there are also a lot of positives. Very much reminds me of a lot of silicon valley start ups that have a lot of struggles in the early years. I will keep hold of my 30,000 shares unless it looks really grim.

The only thing that concerns be is those idiots spreading false lies via Twitter/Facebook. We don't want another run on the bank.

Fully agreed on this statement, all they've done is greater the next generation of people that will want revenge in the US. Happened in Iraq also, they have a habit of doing this..

Anyway back to Metro, small upside but it's still a positive, after weeks of so much negative press, could things be about to turn.

I'm in this for the long term, well at least a year depending on what happens going forward. If it ever gets to 1500 I would be very happy. Little steps and all though, let's break 300 first.

On another note, in a down turn safety deposit boxes are always a good cash generator, people start to distrust.

Quick question, let's assume the volume dies right down as it is and people stop selling and everytime an Algo sells someone buys.

Won't this start to dry up for them, surely they can't be making much profit when it's just holding at this pattern.

Trades appear to have dropped off a lot since last week, what happens in the case where most people or holding etc and liquidity is low?

Are the shorters just going to trade amongst themselves with Algos?

At least it finished up again even by a small percentage, if it keeps going up a few percent each day I'm good with this.

The rapid rises always lead to reversals with Metro, the weekend paper talk appears to be just rumour. Let's see how the next couple of weeks go... Q3 Results will be critical to stem the tide of shorters.
