Eric...I read that Thomas Hardy got the title Far From The Madding Crowd from Thomas Gray's Elegy...Far from the madding crowd's ignoble strife, their sober wishes never learned to stray, along the cool sequestered vale of life they kept the noiseless tenor of their way.... Can't say I go along with being noiseless, I think we should shout a bit while we can. Lol.

Thanks Eric...nice melody and very nostalgic. The TH is profound, don't remember ever reading it before...I read most of his novels a long time ago, gave them up because they're too sad and hopeless. Far From The Madding Crowd was the only one with a happy ending: 'And at home by the fire, whenever you look up there I shall be— and whenever I look up, there will be you'. Morning All. Well, at least we know there's no point expecting this decision in January and it's worth remembering I think that the matter under consideration is not the decision but the conduct of the process, were there any irregularities. And there's a date for the response, less than six weeks longer, which is insignificant after being invested for 14 years.

Hello Eric...It's not a good time to decide things I suppose when you think about it 8 January is an unlikely time due to the holiday season. The questions and answers will have long reaching implications and it seems fair they get plenty of time considering the other side have had so many extensions. Not good news to hear for sure but as you say some good news may come from one of our other projects.

Eric, Sj...Yes, but it could possibly wait until the Appeal decision is made...when hopefully the sp will improve. This waiting is tough but early in the New Year isn't long now.

Well he's entitled to his opinion...the Company is doing all the right things, being accessible and making an effort to show they can do good for the district.

Hello Sj...At the last election when the Social Democrats lost their majority, the Framtid Party, the Greens and the Left gained control. I think the Framtid Party's main objectives are to improve health care and social services. Translation sometimes makes it ambiguous when positives and negatives get mixed up. And there's this:

"As a municipality, we will not announce that we are either for or against a mine. We will be an authority that handles referrals and applications," says municipal commissioner Henrik Blind (Green Party).

I've read a bit more and it seems only the Environmental Party has taken a position against it not the whole Council, if I'm understanding it correctly.

"In last year's election, there was a change of power in Jokkmokk - and now the municipality is no longer actively working to get rid of a mining establishment in Kallak ."

The previous Mayor Robert Bernhardsen was very keen on the mine, but when he retired that sentiment changed, has it changed again?

Hello All...I've been out all day and I didn't want to post this morning because my name's on top too often. Yes, indeed I have, Berton changed my tune, I've been singing Speed bonny boat...and carry the lad that is born to be Bans. Not a bad day, finished blue in Sweden and a nice buy here. One has to sing something after all's said and done but some of those songs make you think... what awful strife on earth there's been, why can't we settle things better.
