Mrs May has been seen doing a jig in Africa recently, over an 8 billion trade deal. She'll have to learn a few more steps to make up for the 169 billion we trade in the EU. And there was talk in some quarters that we should send our stuff to Africa free because they're poor and we're rich.

Looks like Mrs May's friends will be getting Belgian Chocolates for Christmas...they could do worse they could get English Chocolates.

And a bit that I missed...the Mayor of Jokkmokk was reelected, that was good news... but a bit close for comfort. Nevertheless a miss is as good as a mile. :-)

I agree with that FarEnd, except for the fact that this is a business and and the punters should have some basis for making their investment, which to individuals might be a lot of money. When you say it doesn't give us the right to a concession....well, it gives us the right to explore and the law regarding the right to exploit the concession should be transparent, it should deliver according to what it says on the tin. The MI believe our application fulfils the requirements of the law and therefore we do have something to complain about.

Nobody would ever have thought we would be still without a concession this Christmas and into 2019...it would have been unimaginable in 2014. But we get periods of encouragement based on the responses of the MI (weeks not months) and comments to the press from Minister(s): (reindeer herding and mining can coexist from the current and previous incumbents and the law is enough from MD...then absolute silence and no communication with the company, nothing, literally for years. It's been as Kurt said, shocking treatment towards a company who has invested 77 million SEK exploring and proving up minerals in Sweden.in accordance with the country's minerals strategy. Mr Lofven said more than four years ago that the law would decide upon Kallak not politics....which has not been the case.

PS And then there's the possibility of an exit from Brexit.

You can't start hibernating just yet...have to see what happens tomorrow or Monday, will Andy's assumptions be correct...same government, same inaction, personally I'm hoping for something different.

We should get some real news next week, if only news about the new government...but I suppose you could say all of our future news depends on that.

I've wondered at that myself, Treetop. The Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Culture....in theory those areas should not have presented any problems for Beowulf because it has always had good green credentials and as for culture, what would our establishment do to hinder the reindeer culture...precious little. Then again, a coallition government is in thrall to its junior party. Thraldom...that's a good viking word as is hamstrung.

Agree with you Eric, it doesn't matter if the MP do get back in with their small number of seats, the law will decide not the Greens.

Her list is interesting, particularly the environmental proposals to reduce emissions, you'd have thought the MP had that sewn up. It's a good list but nothing about the new minerals policy she introduced when she was Minister for Industry:
