Sanctions by whom? The US sanctioned us once already. Precious metals is a colossal sellers' market right now and that's not going to change any time soon. If anything the rebound for gold should be greater than proportional when the markets settle, and accelerated by the situation in the middle east as people move further away from.more volatile sectors.

I'm sorry mate, I just can't see it. What you're describing (general jursidictional risk) has been baked into this share price for the last 10 years. You might have made a few quid just now, but I genuinely don't think it'd be prudent to maintain a short position moving forward.
