it is the nature of any 'disruptive' tech like SYM, that takes time to gain market traction and with the plastic and waste mangmnt industry both ignoring the plastic problem for many years and still lobbying against change, amazingly, there are some hurdles to overcome, however, change must come and public demand continues to increase,
Looking at the global problem and considering the fact politicians like simple answers for complex problems (!) we are heading into new territiory with the plastic debate.
The simple observer calls for a ban on plastic, clearly not possible as detailed by oxo and others and plastic is an essential requirement in so many aspect of life and is in so many products it is astounding, it is immeasurable and many items contain plastics that most folk would not even consider possibe. Plastic is not going away and landfill importantly requires a massive change of approach too, in fact it is this area where BIG change equally needs to happen and is an overlooked aspect for many.
A commercially viable solution that will not substantially increase the cost of production or items for manufacturers and public is needed. A solution that can be incorporated with little or no fuss to plastic production to ensure no increase in capital cost/machinery etc to ensure supply lines are not disrupted is also required. The ability to ensure bio degrading abilities within certain times frames would be hugely desirable for all, particularly for one use items wrapped in plastic packing that will not be required immediately after use.
Importantly too if any plastic at whatever level of manufacture were to be dumped / escape into the environment the ability not to pollute for the time span such as the current untreared plastic do for 100 yrs would also be top of the public agenda,
SYM tech covers all bases, can be managed to a global standard, as plastic is global, delivery is global, dumping is global, So globally we need a global standard that can quickly efficiently begin to deal with the plastic issue and can be monitored to ensure better global management of the problem.
Clearly SYM's appraoch to making plastic smarter and bio degradable is a HUGE improvement on the current outdated polluting methods employed by most to date, they were ahead of their time in developing the products and recognising the issues ahead,.
SYM smarter plastic works with the plastic industry, keeps costs to a minimum, does not halt supply or production, is consumer friendly, can be used globally, sets a global standard and bio degrades as the public and environment demand. Waste mangemnt need to stop dumping abroad, and passing the issue onto less developed countries, and also need to stop filling the land with ever growing toxic and ever lasting plastic waste.
