Importantly, any buy-out of ThinkSmart’s stake will now have to be made in cash......

.......Afterpay has not updated the market on its first quarter trading to 30 September 2021, but Clearpay’s financial contribution is likely to be proportionately even higher, and rising. However, even if you ignore that possibility, then ThinkSmart’s fully diluted stake in Clearpay is still worth £151m (142p share) after adding back the 17.5 per cent liquidity discount applied in the June valuation.

Effectively, ThinkSmart’s sum-of-the-parts valuation is 151p a share with the valuation risk weighted to the upside. More importantly, Afterpay’s imminent change of control could lead to a major liquidity event to turn ThinkSmart’s valuable holding in Clearpay into cash.'

This low-cost miner’s next few years look smooth as anything. Going by FactSet consensus forecasts, Central Asia Metals
(CAML) will see its free cash flow climb gently from $88m (£64m) this year to $112m in 2025. At the same time, management
plans to revamp its Sasa mine in Macedonia while keeping one eye on more M&A. Base metals – which include the copper, zinc and lead that CAML sells – are in a bull market right now but deals are still on the table.......In the September quar-
ter, Kounrad in Kazakhstan hit a production record of 4,000 tonnes of the red metal. Even if the price drops off, CAML has legs. Buy.

Jubilee Metals (JLP) has more than got its timing right: in that time it has grown from a minnow to a mid-sized miner through a canny set of acquisitions to add to its hold-ings in South Africa. This has turned it into a platinum group metals and chrome producer with copper and cobalt expansion plans. .... Shareholders barely flinched when Jubilee raised £30m to increase its stakes in several copper projects in Zambia in September, showing the appetite for growth. This will see total production capacity hit 25,000 tonnes a year of copper by the midpoint of the decade, the company said, adding a metal that has good long-term demand growth prospects. Buy.

The receipt of the tax rebate was expected before the end of the year; however, receiving it early compared to last year is positive and demonstrates the increased confidence in the methodology proposed to the Australian Tax Office, which includes eligible expenses relating to the acquisition of the Murata manufacturing assets.

Combined with the funding from the recent capital raise, CAP-XX now has a much stronger balance sheet from which to invest in accelerating growth. With the market for IoT applications picking up pace, as well as increased demand for larger supercapacitors in other applications such as renewable energy and motive, we see CAP-XX as well positioned for a period of supernormal growth as well as being fully funded to profitability. We iterate our Buy recommendation and 15p price target.
