The Uk Govt. will support Capita who are looked upon as invaluable in a large number of areas but the CPI management need to make sure it actually pays its way. We need to introduce ways of making the contracts more flexible so that no losses are suffered and the money paid is spend wisely and for effective service. Sometimes one has to pay more for a better service. Good news however - keep it coming!

Plus the B.O.E. talking up negative interest rates should help the price of Gold late and also Centamins future earnings.

Regret Mr B - I have seen this all before and have been on the wrong side when ABX took full control of Aca. I was hoping they would remain separate. Bristow is very ambitious and when you study what he has done and negotiated in some very difficult situations - you can never write him off. However he does enjoy gaining full value from difficult situations and for CEY he has a different call - but will not want to pay full price. I see ABX going in not for the kill but a wounding first by taking away some licences with CEY maybe gaining something from the Egyptians too, but he loves forming consortiums and then slowly making his/their presence known however in the short term I do see big gains here for CEY who are limited to one big mine at the moment with not much work being done outside of Egypt which is not their own fault more they need to wait for political stabilisation in say Burkina Faso? Where Abx/Aca are also experienced by the way. Interesting times but Egypt should be very aware as I said the other day I would prefer they continued with CEY expanding who they know, rather than those that to them do not!

Contd. When I say under pressure I do not mean a downward one more an upward one as US investors start looking out of the USA they will come in her for the like of Capita and the other shares mentioned which lets be honest are all at bargain prices.
To re-organise Capita to me is easy - all they need to do is to say to clients regret in this Pandemic we need to ask for more funds for an unexpected pandemic that has affected our costs - we wish to deliver - but need to focus on service and not on having to reduce headcount that will affect service - your call as a client to decide what you want. If the increase was kept inline for even a small percentage over the whole business that is all that is needed to be in keeping to level the playing field so to speak and to keep the business running to serve in the long term which all clients will prefer in anycase.

Most dealers expecting a significant upside as we work towards the elections, and also feeling that the Fed is not doing anything else to help kick start their economy will start putting pressure on Jerome Powell to act, if not I see Mr Trump tweeting very soon. Dealers said they feel the slight drop in price has been purely dollar related - however that is felt to be under pressure soon and the safe haven is lost with dealers who have said they may prefer to invest over in Europe - where else than Centamin to cover all of their bases with a Gold miner in a sound position and a good foreign earner too which might be compounded by a sterling fall as we approach Brexit - we have a lot to look forward to hear in my opinion.

Can see the likes of Capita, Marstons, Stobart and our banks all coming under pressure from USA investors as the talk in wall street is less is going to be invested over there (with the US elections and all) and more will invest in the Uk and Europe where stocks will be picked out such as the ones mentioned.
I also see the UK FTSE Gold / Silver miners doing even better than they have done this year with most expecting the GOLD/Silver price to rise into the US election so Centamin and Hochschild should do very well too. Good luck one and all.

Yes chaps lots of very cheap stocks out there. Other prime candidates apart from Capita where the Vultures are circling are Marstons (Carlsberg talking if a JV) but lets be honest the share price is now ripe for a complete takeover) also I see Stobart group also ripe for takeover as South end airport is a crown jewel and they own Carlisle where they is talk of a free trading port for UK trading between Ireland and the Uk will make this worth a lot for bids.

This is simple all have to follow their own gut instincts and not those who always bleat negative comments in the hope the share price falls and then they suddenly buy back in and talk this share up. The so called in and outers who will say anything negative to get you on their side, even miss reading RNS messages to get you on their side. Well I am sorry but everyone can see the shorters from the trees. Sow the seeds today and longer term you will have a Mighty Oak -rather than living off others infortune. Think about it if the so called experts held shares (& voting rights) then they would express their comments through the official channels and certainly would not be promoting negativity which would affect their own holding. Everyone can see who they are a mile off.
As said before even Boris has tried to stop the shorts being served after 10.pm. However on a serious note I just wished he stopped the shorts on the share trading business in its entirety. Only that I actually feed off them as if they have shorted it means they will have to buy back in and therefore the share price itself is artificially low and in my book time to buy. Not long to go to have a proven vaccine and then think about it are beer drinkers ever going to go away? Will the largest premium beer/ ale brewer in the Uk with four world beer awards fail. I would rather be in here than most other Beer producers as they do not rely on just one source of income. However if you want to reduce your risks a great time to buy a tracker.

Rick to me in the charts they are already no1 but certainly before the market were "singing their praises" and they liked the news for the price to shoot up almost over night as you will remember.
I see the additional benefit of the JV being what I call a canny move by senior Management to help Marstons get around Brexit and having a deal with a Major European Brewer could be a blessing and certainly an advantage over many other Uk comps if the Brexit negotiations continue with the way if appears to be going at them moment for a no deal. However in the pre-pandemic market they were doing quite well anyway and so even if the deal does not get approved by the CMA (which I feel is unlikely as it could still be agreed with conditions to satisfy those with concerns like a builders planning proposal) then once a vaccine or five is released to the public the share like most of the market will come back fast anyway!

Contd. Perhaps as a suggestion as it is also in the GOVTS interest that Capita succeeds drafted into the contracts should be "an assists bonus" or a "goal bonus" or an "end of contract bonus" so that in no event if they have performed should they have suffered a loss. It does not suit them, their staff, their shareholders and most importantly the govt. or any client for that matter whether public or private. When I sued to award contracts I was always in a position where too cheap does not actually help anyone it has to be for a costs that can work for both parties. Good luck Capita -renegotiate your major contracts whilst Mr Rishi has what appears to be very deep pockets.

From what I hear they are very busy and conduct themselves for their clients both private and public very professionally. The Pandemic has come but one thing that might occur is the home working could actually be a god send in the end. i.e. They have to maintain a number of large offices throughout the Uk (as some of their contracts are so important to the Uk they have to also hold large offices up and running empty as a full back for a major a catastrophe or calamity such as a major flood hitting London or a terrorist attack on the uk) so that business can continue. Their costs must be very difficult to manage but perhaps WFH could reduce them. Otherwise I feel they should put their costs up. I am sure there is a way out for Capita as one thing is for sure the GOVT will not allow them to fail. Shorters may be disappointed but this is a fact. Perhaps that is why they have some much large corporate backing and a Govt. that keeps renewing their contracts? I just wish the contracts they win paid them more profit.

Investingnewb - I heard from the press office (an official source) that the Carlsberg merger deal is being worked on flat out and as such there has not been any date given for results (just keep watching their official web site for any news.) I understand any results may not be this year until December. As I have said before Marstons do not feel they are under any pressure to release results (which is frustrating to us) they believe the business is sound and only see pressure in getting the merger through and satisfying the CMA. I hope this helps and this is an honest account before anyone says I have insider information it is after an open approach to the official web site. Give it a try and come back to the board!

passing thru - Howdy partner- I am not that saddle sore and so do not mind either way to be honest, as long as the Company and its staff benefit. I do know some senior management in CPI and they are good. hard workers, but I can also see the benefit of using the financial experience of Schroders or anyone else for that matter.
So for me I am happy either way and fingers crossed for some improvement which should occur with all the support this Company now has with some many big players invested and supporting it (incl. the govt).

Would have thought the cut in VAT to 5% and the continued support to both staff and the Company itself with the opportunity to reorganise the finances that we have a few profit takers. Still we can't go up 7-9% every day and the last few days we have recovered well!

Last results affected by holiday pay provisions -well now govt will step in if an employee works a 1/3 Govt pays 2/3'ds.
Any takeover attempt may have to act fact as we are already rising here but also :-
Businesses can spread VAT bill with no interest to pay.
Bus Interruption loan extended to 10 years. Pay as you grow scheme for 6-10 years. Small and Medium business support.
Direct support for staff in work i.e. Must work 1/3 and govt helps fund 2/3rds.
Self employed grant extended.
