Hi all
Nice to read these stories.
My own is slightly less inspirational, but EUA could still be big for me. I have 35,000 shares in an ISA and another 8,000 in a SIPP. I'm 35 with a reasonable salary but nothing amazing (not higher tax bracket, put it that way!) and two young kids.
I first got into EUA at about 19.5p, but sold in the low 20s to go chasing covid stocks. Frustratingly, I kept an eye on EUA and watched it drift down to 17p in late September, thinking I was going to get a great re-entry price. Sadly, I was too slow and ended up buying back on the rise in early October, with a 29p average now. I suppose I should be glad I got back in then and at least missed the covid drop on vaccine news...
And anyway, if we're right and a sale comes through at a significantly higher price than where we are now, those 43,000 shares are going to mean a lot to me!
All the best all.
If they're not involved, they're not involved. They'd stay out of it.
If they released a short statement saying "Hey guys, you know that company next door? We're not buying that" and EUA's share price dipped on the news of one less potential bidder, EUA would be within their rights to feel a little peeved, no?
If you're not involved, best to just stay out of it entirely. Unless the speculation grew to such an extent that it was affecting their own operations or share price, but we're not exactly at that level here.
Just got off the phone...
"Oh that's just a glitch on the website, don't worry it'll be fine by this afternoon's announcement of a multi-billion... um...I mean... Keith? No, this isn't Keith. You must have the wrong number. No Keiths here. I've never even heard of Norilsk Nickel! I mean, dammit I did it again... Um, hello? I can't hear you? There must be something wrong with the line... *hangs up*"
Bit suspicious if you ask me.
Thanks for clarifying Nitrokev.
Unfortunately I believe that’s a regularly occurring glitch. I’m pretty sure someone explained it on the board once but I can’t remember exactly what the explanation was (from memory it was something to do with twitter plugins, though appreciate that might not make much sense as they haven’t tweeted).
Anyway, fairly certain it has happened before when no news followed.
@MrNinja - Must be! Unless you’ve got some kind of dodgy calendar that jumps straight to December, in which case I’d demand my money back.
Calendars are notoriously inaccurate. Did you know that 1 in 4 sticks 29 days in February?! Idiots.
The fishing off the good ship Eurasia really is excellent. Hook, line and sinker... :)
All the best all :)
I predicted last week that 31st November was going to be massive.
Don't think we'll get an RNS this Saturday, but I'm hearing talk from the City about big news on 31st November...
30 to 32 is where all the cool kids are nowadays.
Shall we stay here for December? ;)
Almost certainly not.
I hope not anyway. If there was a leak of the sale price, or that the sale had successfully concluded, and the share price increased by a few pence, then that wouldn't bode very well for the mega bucks we're all hoping for.
If we suddenly rocket into the 40s (or higher?) then maybe we can talk about leaks. Until then, I don't think there's anything in the share price movement that suggests something so dramatic. Though it is positive!
Think it was one of those "joke" things. Ask a silly question, get a silly answer. In this case, the question is silly because if we new when the sale would end and how much it would sell for, it would all essentially be over by now. So the humour derives from giving a highly specific and certain answer to what is a clearly unanswerable query.
...LOL.
Never guessed before but I’ll go with 17th December please - only because it’s my birthday. I very much hope the RNS actually arrives sooner!
Just saw 28.58 on Google and now have a nose bleed from the altitude. Think my head will explode if we hit 30.
Are there even numbers bigger than 30? I don't remember anymore...
Maybe that's it... I'm not a physicist but I believe that, to an outside observer, time seems to slow down as your approach the enormous mass of a black hole. Time appears to go slower and slower and slower, as you approach your inevitable destination.
Could the EUA sale price be so massive that it actually distorts space-time?
You can't argue with science.
And before anyone says it (or maybe not)... yes, I'm sure they're working 24/7 and "you don't want to pay DLA Piper for long"! :)
Ok, so that subject might not be popular with some people. Particularly the more impatient ones among us, but I think it's worth saying.
The interim report RNS was 8 weeks ago tomorrow.
It may seem like a long time when we're checking the share price every day, reading LSE, the price is stuck in a very narrow range, and we expected (or hoped for) news sooner. But when you actually think about it in terms of how long it takes to get anything of significance done... We're only talking about 39 working days with no update.
And that's following an RNS that ended "Shareholders should recognise that the process Eurasia is in now implies that the Company is very limited in what it can discuss in the public domain."
Yes, there have been quicker FSPs, but - given that we know the company was focused on the sale process on 30th September - don't let anyone tell you that we should all be panicking when it's not even the end of November yet.
*Drumroll for an 8.5 in the next five minutes*
;)
Or even worse, it’s a bank holiday! Glad those horrible three day weekends are out of the way for a while...
