@BeaconEnergyPlc further to climb? #BCE shares have rocketed since mid-August (+137.50%) as investors and traders consider the potential implications of its Schwarzbach-2(2.) drilling operations.

Beacon Energy shares have rocketed since circa 15 August, (+137.50%) the past month, as investors and traders consider the potential implications of its Schwarzbach-2(2.) drilling operations. The share could still be a buy, but investors are speculating on continued success — and only volatility can be reliably guaranteed.

Ondo announced a new deal with PURE Insurance, its 16th partner globally and 2nd major deal in America, a key focus market for the company going forward in our view.

Ondo InsurTech PLC (LON: ONDO) listed on the London Stock Exchange, a pioneer in home insurance claims prevention technology, has forged a strategic alliance with the US-based PURE Insurance to bolster risk management and diminish preventable claims for PURE’s clientele.
Midsize Customer Base, But High Quality and High Growth. PURE serves a customer base of over 100,000 high net worth members, based in New York state with clients across several states. PURE reports a 15% compound growth rate since its inception in 2006. This deal is a pilot agreement in one state so it is too early to ascribe significant value to the partnership. However, if we assume the company can eventually achieve a 20-40% penetration rate at this customer, similar to its recent progress with European based partners, and an estimated unit pre-tax net present value at 8% of £124 this suggest a value for this pilot of between £2.5-5.0M to Ondo. But as the company is aiming to shift towards the new 'auto-ship' model in America with higher penetration rates up to 80%, this could suggest a pre-tax NPV of up to £10M. Further details about our NPV calculation for a single unit can be found in the exhibit below and in our Initiation of coverage note HERE

Here is the Bloompoint Analytic Research note. Probably the most interesting bit is the unit economics case study on pages 16 -17 shows an estimate of the NPV of a customer based on our US pricing at $5 a month https://www.bloompoint.co.uk/ondo-insurtech-sponsored-research
As an avid investor in UK small caps, I tend to focus on biotechs, mining and oil. These are usually pretty high risk, but the flip side is that the rewards can be exceptional. However, I do make room in my portfolio when the occasional ‘pioneering’ opportunity crops up.

These are companies where there is a clear unmet need, and the business has designed a product which fixes a specific problem. A recent example which I have covered in depth is Abingdon Health’s saliva-based pregnancy test — shares in the company have risen by 47% year-to-date.
When I first covered Ondo InsurTech, the share price had already doubled from its 12p March 2022 IPO price — but the sincerity and competence of CEO Craig Foster convinced me to make an investment at just under 22p. And the stock is sitting pretty at 35p, in the six weeks or so since.

A company that already seems set to lay claim to being one of the stocks of the year is Ondo Insurtech (ONDO). What is interesting here is that we have a company with a winning position in a specialist niche, which is right on the money in terms of what the market / its chosen sector needs. This week the company finesses its position as a multi-bagger for 2023, with news

Kodal Minerals (LON: KOD) shares are changing hands for 0.50p, having fallen from its 0.88p high on 21 April 2023.
https://www.share-talk.com/kodal-minerals-why-is-the-share-price-falling/
However, KOD remains significantly higher than when I outlined the bull case in November 2022 — with most of the increase fuelled by a $117.75 million funding package agreed with Hainan Mining, alongside positive assay results both at its flagship Bougouni Project, as well as Leo Lithium/Ganfeng’s neighbouring Goulamina.
However, a couple of problems have started to emerge from the woodworks. And while I cannot speak to the traders, the question that long-term investors need to ask themselves is this:
Buy the dip, take profits, or stick?

Contrasting with the mining rig used previously, this new rig, having superior power, can drill wider diameter boreholes, which are more stable. The rig will drill an 8.5-inch diameter hole compared to the 3.5-inch hole drilled in the previous round.

The company is engaged in exploration, appraisal, and development of oil and gas assets in Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean, with a portfolio of interests including a CO2 enhanced project in Trinidad, two gas exploration projects in offshore Ireland, and a gas exploration project in onshore Morocco.

Seeing first gas at the Blythe H2 well as recently as 13 June, IOG seems to have turned over a new leaf.

On 26 June, CEO Rupert Newall noted that ‘we have successfully completed the wireline intervention at Blythe H2 well, which has now flowed at a maximum stabilised rate around 42 mmscf/d… the significant improvement in our operating team performance is also demonstrated by Blythe operating efficiency increasing from 59% in 2022 to 93% over 1H23 to date.’

UJO is fast becoming one of my favourite small-cap energy stocks. After interviewing Chair David Bramhill earlier this year, the company continues to go from strength to strength — engaging in share buybacks and continuing to deliver revenue.
https://twitter.com/Share_Talk/status/1673931320689410049?s=20
Indeed, as of 14 June, flagship Wressle — in which UJO owns a 40% economic interest — had delivered in excess of $16 million in net revenues since August 2021. Encouragingly, the company notes that the well is producing under natural flow with zero water cut, with oil production stable at approximately 780 barrels per day under restricted flow. And the CPR is imminent.
