You make a good point Ralph, but we really don't know how the business is performing nor if any debt has been repaid lately - no dividends are being paid currently, so possibly debts are being addressed in jurisdictions in which EVR is not sanctioned??
I personally have no idea how the business is performing - just checking RASP share price periodically, up 20% over the past 12 months, as a rough indication.
If anyone has valid information, it would be welcome.

FinallyRetired, someone on here a while back gave an educated estimate, giving Evraz North America alone a valuation of around £1b, given that there are about 1b EVR shares, that obviously comes to around 100p per share.
So even if we somehow lose the Russian business and assets all is not lost surely.

Currently it seems obvious that the market does not take COPL seriously, share price is viewed as flaky and the promise of jam tomorrow is not encouragement enough for many 'traders' to hold for the medium/long term.
Also potential retail investors may have been stung here before, and have adopted a 'once bitten, twice shy' mentality towards COPL.
My thoughts are that as production rises and the recent hedge changes make the balance sheet more palatable, the level headed investors will take up positions. We also have the JV to look forward to which will surely see the 'herd' return with a vengeance...
I'm happy to hold for now and await these developments - with the news gleaned from the most recent RNS, I feel that the company is in a better place than it has been for quite some time.
Just my tuppence worth
Stu
Appreciated your post Transhaven
I realise that compared to some I have a modest holding in COPL but, for better or worse, I have money tied up in EVR and have resolved to hold LITH, trading on TSX, long term too - well worth a look incidentally, seem to be at a similar stage to COPL and a decent cash position.
Also holding high divi payers to keep the coffers flowing.
Not intended as a cross-ramp, honestly lol
Stu
Lol dusterhater, yes deramping by hoping for ONLY a 10 bagger lol - I would be happy with that, but as you say we could be looking at much more, but many factors to consider and all to play for.
I plan to sit tight and would not be too surprised if there's an outright takeover given our lowly market cap currently.
Stu
I'm possibly a 'Johnny-come-lately' to some of you long term COPL holders, but have no intention of even trading my 300k+ shares, given what we know about 'our' potential.
Been trying to glean as much as I can about COPL, the company website is not exactly encyclopaedic, so if anyone has any interesting info or links on the company's history, I would be appreciative.
Taken from COPL website and referring to USA assets -
'These assets are principally comprised of three federal units: The Barron Flats (Shannon) Unit (58% WI), Barron Flats (Deep) Unit (55.56% WI), and the Cole Creek Unit (66.7%).' What do the percentage figures refer to?? Percentage of ownership??
Also never heard a word from the company nor on this forum regarding the Nigerian assets, they are still listed on the website, do we still have them or is it the case that they have become so secondary that they have been virtually forgotten, with the current focus (rightly) on the USA?
With an average of 2.58p can I realistically hope for a 10 bagger lol?

Whilst the Buyback news is not unwelcome, I'm curious about February's Fundraise by issuing new shares...there has been two Buyback announcements since, and the two events are polar opposites (Fundraise and Buyback) - the Fundraise was at 105p compared to our current share price of 84p, is the company just being opportunistic, or am I missing something?
I'm curious because DEC could have avoided fees surely?
Stu
LawStudent95 - I'm actually remaining patient and feel that if we were to see our investment become worthless, it would have probably happened by now - the markets have been unpleasant anyway, so not the worst thing to have money 'parked' here at a historically low share price average, Evraz SP will gain significantly should 'normality' return at some point.
Personally I would prefer the company to retain Evraz NA, I'm thinking that if things do not return to 'normal' and some sort of 'Iron Curtain' instead prevails and the Russian arm is lost, at least we shareholders would still have possession of Evraz NA...has anyone got a rough idea how much Evraz NA is worth per share, would be interesting to know...??

I was referring to this RNS, which will give a trading statement for Q1
https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/DEC/notice-of-trading-statement-timing-3njm5pn202fdjtu.html
And wondering if a dividend will be declared tomorrow morning too
Stu
Q1 Trading Statement is also expected tomorrow - hopefully beneficial to SP too
Will Q1 dividend be announced tomorrow too?

Currently 'all square' in Canada, despite the consolidation news - I'm guessing not much volume there?

The viewpoint of this small share holder is that we have little option but to put up with the 'whims' of BOD until a JV is either confirmed or denied, BOD can almost do as they please while the carrot of a JV is dangling before us
Stu
Per the RNS, the shipment was of 'high-quality Bens Creek coal, a brand specifically requested by the customer' - reading between the lines, that seems to intimate BEN might be receiving more than the industry average for the commodity, possibly?
Thank you HeresHopin,
I would agree BEN should bring down debt level initially, and I have sufficient patience for that to happen here - it seems like dividends are a distinct possibility with BEN and a period of delay might even give the opportunity for top ups - from this SP level it wouldn't take too much to provide chunky percentages.
Feel like I've landed on my feet here, no doubt Long Term holders having seen the SP shrink, are not feeling quite so chipper, been there, I sympathise.

Hello all
I added BEN yesterday on the strength of the RNS information, I had looked before but the current share price seems compelling, actually surprised its in the teens.
Have been reading your informative posts and noticed that dividends are mentioned a couple of times - is there an existing dividend policy, or company statement of some sort that I could be directed to?
Really positive about the quality of product, potential for production increase, and dare I say it, a betterment to the commodity price.
Thanks in advance
Stu
P.S. like their rice too
Spoke too soon
