That is indeed one of the big problems for the future, why would you invest in a JB company knowing that his corporate administration work is lacking and he has failed to provide shareholder returns for any of the entities he is involved with. Mind you Theo has not exactly covered himself in glory either, not heard a peep out of him and I remain to be convinced this was a good appointment.
However I don't believe this is a scam or that he's done a runner, there is not a shred of evidence to suggest this. My own view is that he's spinning far too many plates and that he has been overwhelmed by the sheer size of the NEO transactions, without having a proper team to digest them. That and the financing are the problems in my mind, which is why we have had no end of delays. The approval wait most likely delay any offtake agreements, we have no update on the situation with Auo and therefore we are possibly quite short on cash.
I understand people are worried, that's only natural when your money is tied up and there are no full and frank updates from the company. I have been here possibly longer than most, having invested last summer when the share price was on the floor and no one was interested in it. My reassurance is that Sibanye has not said anything negative about the deal and why would all these advisers be appointed and happy to take shares as payment if it was all an elaborate story.
For the avoidance of doubt I'm not JB nor a friend or family or a ramper. I'm just an ordinary investor trying to make sense of all this.
