With regards to BT, once the market sees capex cost coming down and FCF increasing, BT will rise like Rolls Royce. Now is the time to accumulate but rolls Royce like return will come in 1-2yrs time. It is not if it will rise. All in my opinion.

I agree with Fleecy with regards to give incentives for investing in UK companies and tax if investing into non- UK. When I say tax, I mean charge higher stamp duty may be for example. Something ought to be done to make UK equities attractive.

the narrative so far has been that despite inflation high, travel demand high due to missing out during covid...

narrative will change soon, possibly from tomorrow that inflation is down and people will now able to "afford" ticket prices

Silver dipped from $32 and this dropped pants! Currently it is $31.87 so not sure what the panic is for the traders!

I think avg of $28 -$30 silver prices for this fiscal year is easily possible and that should be really good for FRES?

Morning bell am adding here as I too see 140p+ by end of the week as we have inflation news coming up and it could be 2.5% around and fireworks will start across all stocks. Also will top up Lloyds. Had a solid holding but sold it at 52p and bought back again but not full amount that I wanted so will load up there too first thing in the morning.

Iran president news could give an opportunity for a lower price at the open or bit later in the first half but don't think I would want to wait as I can add further. GLA

Biskit, I have ready few articles so far on BT, mainly from IG, who are usually good at pointing negatives and encouraging retails investors to open short positions and in none of the articles, I do not see any mention of the court case and even CEO in the RNS last week did not mention about court case. Whatever this court case is, it is very insignificant interms of negative outcome to BT and that could be the reason why it is not mentioned much even the Fools articles don't have this mentioned. JP Morgan in April mentioned about the capex cost as one of the main reason and lack of guidance are the reasons for share not performing but they too did not mention about court case. With clear guidance now provided about the costs and FCF, I think it is all blue skies from here unless again war escalates or something major that is outside of BT control!

Canada Pension and Ako Capital took short position in Feb at around 105p and now SP is 134p! They are in big losses now but it could be that they also have a long position which could be covering the loss. Higher the price goes, their long position may end up in break even which is not fruitful for them for having bought short and long positions. They could close the long position once they see a downtrend but with FCF of £1.5bn and higher from now on and the hope of interest rates coming down , I think good times are ahead. We need another RNS with a big fund buying BT and that should make these short positions close?

Let's hope 130p is the new base.

Normalised free cash flow of atleast £1.5bn means they are expecting minimum of £1.5bn FCF from now on and increasing from FY26? IF this is the case then I think a significant re-rate is coming here.

Google considers the RI so you can see the share price in google for EZJ was 1200p before pandemic. Currently it is not even half of that price. This is way too undervalued and that is the reason why Barclays has got 790p target!

I will load up but just waiting to see how low this will go down. There is a short position too which I think may get closed when they make 10-20% profit. To make 10% profit and close their short, SP need to go down to 468p as price went down with RNS from 520p.

Stupmy, I do not think anyone can time the entry buying low. Even if one does, it would be a small position as am sure many have learnt now to not go all in at once rather have some various entry points depending on how the share is doing.

There is an increased short position and I think this will now stay subdued until next quarter results. I sold half of my 490 entry at 512p. I will wait to top up and I think this is going to 475 and then with BoE rate cut decision should bounce a bit at which point I might sell my 490 entry and keep the lower entry.

SP dropped to 90p after announcement of investment in ITVX. It was 120p before that announcement. Now that the investment is done SP should fly back to atleast 90p. With buybacks now in place there will be support for SP to get back to 90p and above.

I think it is time to sell Barclays and bank profits. US inflation is not as bad as imagined so money is going back to US equities. Until the beginning of this week FED cuts were not expected at all this year so the money was moving out of US equities and coming into FTSE but with todays inflation figure, money is going out from FTSE back into US so is the drop in Barc, LLOYDS, IAG and few others IMO

Added these at 109p when it rose 3%. After the results tomorrow, will look to add or if it is going down then will sell the ones at 109p. Another 2yrs or more for this to re-rate considering the big debt but at some point in future, it will re-rate. JPM has 290p target, given in April! Hopefully it goes up to 125p short term after the results tomorrow.

US inflation ringing alarms and if tomorrow figures show an increase then rates stay high raising fear of recession amd PMs might go down except for gold.

I have a buy order set at 550p. Let's see.

Hi Daytradenovice, I got into NVIDIA before AI mania so was bit lucky but not invested as much as I would like still happy with the paper profit so far. Just need to see when to bank the profits.

I have a bad feeling that Nvidia could drop after results day May 22nd and thinking to sell if it reaches 910 or 920 before 22nd. My avg is $200 so want to bank the profit and get in again after 22nd. Any thoughts?

Compared to all other indexes FTSE didn't move much compared to pre-pandemic days whereas all other indexes were up by 10% or higher so now it is our turn. Rates are set to come down and UK economy is out of recession and growing so yes it is looking rosy!

Rolls Royce did 200% rise so why not other FTSE stocks? It is time now for other FTSE stocks to rise. Indian CEO for Barc is capable of ensuring that Barclays is not putting a wrong foot and will aim for higher profitability. So far he did well.
