HSBC has got gold averaging 4400-4600 for next 3 years until 2026 - 2028

Finally for once in my life am in a share that is getting acquired! I have decent holding with avg at 325 around. SOLG and ITV are two others but don't have big exposure.

I thought RIO could bid for FRES considering the current Au and Ag prices but Cu is more important for Rio looks like. I think acquiring GLENs coal business should not be a problem as coal is making money for GLEN and ESG goals are being moved further away?

Glen IPO price was £5 so if it is a full takeover then it should be over £5 at least. May be £5.50 could be accepted. It is just a my finger in the air number!

I don't know if many of you have read the Bloomberg article on the last day of 2025 I think, it was about a Hindsigh Capital LLC, which is a made up name and the article mentioned about where investors should have invested to beat SP500 gains. In that article they mentioned shorting airlines and buying shipping companies was the best trade. The reason being Trump with his immigration rules had been discourgaging the travel to US so the trade strategy should have been to short airline stocks! It could be why EZJ and Wizz were targetted last year although IAG had a nice run with some bumpy rides in 2025.

Now the same trade of shorting airlines may not happen this new year 2026 as the shorts want to lock in profits from short positions and go long on airlines this year. So am guessing that Wizz may not revisit 10s and 11s unless the trading update on Jan 29 is really too bad or some blackswann event occurs!

With the recent price target of £43 for FRES, I think FRES can do easily £38-£40 range by Q1 results. PAAS market cap is little similar to FRES but with Probe acquisition and gold prices to go higher I think £40 -£43 price for FRES is doable IMO but again not sure how markets react in the new year GLA

I thought of selling today all of my FRES shares but then wondered where else would I invest that money!

I think the negativity around Russia war continuing is already priced into Wizz SP. Of course when the peace deal is reached all shares will go up including Wizz.

For now, it is all about how Wizz is going to increase the revenue, reduce the debt and increase the profits. For this to happen, the planes that were grounded should be back into service. Next year there will be more planes coming into the service.

If the offer is for 28p then why is this not 28p?

I do not think any one would want to invest in an explorer again if games like this are played.

GGP management did really well! It is a £3bn company now!

SOLG management should hang their heads for not able to get the true value for the assets.The current management should have been sacked long back.

I don't have any more words to describe how this inept management rejected 26p and accepted 28p offer! CEO and the board are either corrupt or just clueless monkeys taken the job. Not a word why they rejected 26p and accepted 28p?

Unfortunately there is no major institutional share holder that want to fight this cheap takeover. Really frustrating how this is ending...

I had £20k worth of Rolls Royce at £1.20 and saw it go down to 65p and I bottled it when they gone back to £1.25 and now they are £11!

FOMO kicked in and bought some at 225p and 620p but not happy with the meagre profits over there and neither here. In October FRES SP went wild hitting low £20s after being there at nearly £24 if I remember correctly and I sold the one in JISA account at £21.

Anyways it is all learning and hope use all this experience and go big into something and hope it pays off.

With respect to oil companies, HBR and OXY in US are in my radar.

L&G and Aviva are a good shout too! Currently have decent holdings in Barclays at £1.85p and I have some in airlines with IAG at 165p.

Have GLEN, SOLG, GGP and EEE in miners and thinking to go big into EEE.

Others are MAG 7 in US

For me it is always difficult to hold onto the profits. Easy for me is holding on to losses for some reason! :-)

Still have holdings brought at £10 albeit nothing compared to the 6 figures that some are having with FRES!

My ISA portfolio is now £170k worth. It is spread across 15-20 different companies.

I'm thinking that before the start of next year I sell many of those and just concentrate on max 4-5 companies and considering to go big into FRES even at the current prices as clearly gold is going to hit $5k after EU sanctioned 90bn euros to Ukraine to continue the war!

Also the interest rates are set to come down next year so that should help gold price and silver to go up?

A record 3mn people were expected to fly from UK airports in the seven days running up to Christmas, the Civil Aviation Authority said this week.

The big thing from that article is this -

Festive flyers are flocking to budget carriers with Wizz Air selling 37% more seats than last year!!!

Reading through the last trading update, I think it is an improving outlook for Wizz. They are going to pay off 500M euro bond in Jan'26 reducing the debt by more than 10% and they would still have cash of 1.4bn. They have deferred some of the new aircraft purchase so that helps with capex cost. More planes back into service in 2026 would help increase the revenue and thus the operating profit. As the revenue increases, SP should go back to previous highs. So it is not doom and gloom really as some paint it.

I think £14 is more accurate with price increasing if the next trading update continues to be good.

Not selling anything yet. It becomes so difficult to get back in. I don't have Wizz in multiple accounts.

I will wait and watch how this will go.

US still pushing for the deal and said they had good talks with Ukraine. After coming to the table for a truce, I think a deal will be reached and not have war continue forever. US will start to blame EU if they support the deal and Trump can totally withdraw support to Ukraine.

As per yday RNS, they are still purchasing! I wonder why? Is it for the 10% gain from current price to 28p?

Who has been buying since this has been down 10% from 32p? There is a buyer for every share sold? The shares might be held with MMs unless there is a new Tr1 on Monday. Let's hope this 10% shares have gone to a new big holder that can bid for SOLG!

Yeah I was hoping there would be a new story this weekend with a new buyer interested to bid. Anyways weekend just started so it is not over yet. If not this weekend may be next weekend as there is still time! Keep your eyes peeled

Also another thought I had was call up Glencore investor relations and ask if they are interested in bidding for SOLG. Glencore recently said it is aiming to increase their copper output to 2million by 2030 or 2035 so no better place to look for that other than SOLG proven assets?

Only thing I would say is that if minnows Chinese are bidding this to mine to production then why not big elephants in mining?

market cap of JCC is just $17bn and they have bid for SOLG for just under $1bn!

BHP or RIO or GLEN are a much bigger company so why not bid for $2bn or higher for SOLG when copper is in shortage?

This definitely needs to be investigated. RNS should be released immediately. SP fell to 28p 2 days ago and we received the 28p RNS today!

I'm very angry right now at BOD but looks like nothing can be done to stop chinese take over.

I hope someone from outside the shareholder register outbid chinese. May be Glencore or Barrick?

Just put 35p as a starter for chinese to then up their bid.
