Joebop, apart from the obvious exaggeration there ("I'd hire every one of them ahead of a bloke" - it's that sort of nonsense that we're talking about here), so what? So, in your year (a small sample to say the least) and in a specific subject and in a specific environment (university), the women were more competent than the men. That's absolutely fine - and let them be employed based on their grades and how they interview, not their gender. And then, let them be promoted, or not, based on their PERFORMANCE at work, not their gender.
