Having listened to the spending review statement I did not detect any new announcements that would impact on INFA.

Nobby31 In relation to your 10.45 post when you say Keep going and "audentes fortuna iuvat" are you suggesting this as INFA's motto as it would be fitting.

Loosegoose In relation to your 08.39 post I am not sure that it is just the value of the contract that would make it material. As an example a £10m three year framework contract might be considered material even if a £10m contract would not. You would need to look at things in the round so a contract from HMG regardless of size may be material especially if it is the first.

Tango1 - I note that it was a low volume day I wonder if that affected things.

With tomorrow's spending review which will be on ParliamentLive from around 12.30 what is everyone expecting?

BlueToff - H&W only have a lease of the parts of Belfast Harbour so does not make anything from the rest of the harbour. However in relation to Appledore H&W owns the freehold so if the land that was transferred when INFA bought the shipyard is developed INFA would get the income from that. At the recent roadshow it was indicated that they are looking at what to do with this land. The land covers 29 acres of waterfront land so has a lot of potential uses.

Tango1 In relation to your 16.18 post bearing in mind that the law in Northern ireland is not exactly the same as in England and Wales my recollection is that in some cases it is possible to judicially review a failure to act. Please note I have not worked in administrative law in over 10 years so I may be wrong.

ThisTimeNextYeer In relation to your 11.21 posthas anything been said about other work going on at H&W apart from the ship repair? JW has mentioned about fabrication work.

Loosegoose In relation to your 09.06 post according to the Belfast Harbour website Stena Europe is in until the end of year the scheduled departure date is currently showing as 31/12/2020.

According to Vessel Finder the only ship in port at Appledore is the Sarah Grey. Having said that the Mormaen 15 isshown as having arrived at Appledore on the 13 November shortly after the Sarah Grey but there is no listing of her departing and is not shown as In Port

I am not surprised by this RNS as I felt that he was being edged out. I am considering my holding as a result.

Like Razorshulz i have been listening to John Wood's LSE interview. Judging by the share price it has generated a lot of interest. It reinforces my view that this is a strong buy. Looks like there is a lot of work going in that we are not seeing. I am looking forward to reading the next two sets of accounts.

ThisTimeNextYeer Inrelation to your 10.30 post I think were the share price goes is likely to be dependent on the size of the contract. If we assume that the profit margin is 20% then if the contract size is £500m then that would give a a profit margin of £100m so I would expect the share price to go to the £2.50 range. The reason for this is that the EPS would be around £1 per share.

Loosegoose I agree with your 08.52 post as I see it at the curret share price if we get a earnings per share figure of more than 5p then the share price is likely to move up. As INFA only has 65m shares in issue that would need only about £3.5m in earnings to generate an eps of 5p

With Brexit fast approaching the horizon it would be interesting to see if the spending review makes any mention of other soveriegn that the UK might need as a consequence. As I see it the UK will need Fisheries Protection Vessels and possibly Border Force Vessels. These will be needed to protect our waters from various threats. I can see this work coming to H&W as it has the capacity.

I have just founda copy of the statement on the No10 website what he said in relation to Belfast and Appledore is

'We shall use our extra defence spending to restore Britain’s position as the foremost naval power in Europe,

I do not normally give trading advice but on this ocassion I think I can safely say that it would not be a good idea to sell any shares in INFA for at least the next 14 days. Personally I am holding on to them until my 65 birthday. I am not saying how old I am now.

The fact that the PM specifically mentioned both Belfast and Appledore is a strong hint that both yards will get some work. When you add to this what JW said last week at the roadshow about Appledore doing ship builds first it may be that when the details of how these additional funds will be spent Appledore might get a mention. More news to come as we have not had the details yet.
