I wonder if you could possibly help .
I was given your details in order to make my complaint.
It is very unusual for me to take to complaining but I must express a deep concern for the terms used in an article which was published todays paper (18/10/18)
In the article about the success of UK Oil and Gas (UKOG), an oil Exploration and Production company, it was reported wrongly that the company was a ‘Fracking’ Company which had recently released an RNS with respect to commerciality on their site at Horse Hill
As a responsible Business Editorial department with no doubt a wealth of industry knowledge I would expect the facts to be firstly known and then correctly reported.
I am a large holder of shares in this company cannot sit by without pointing out, as many others may, that UKOG are not a fracking company.
Oil is flowing to the surface naturally in some amount and under the use of pumps to potentially the highest recorded levels on UK soil.
There is not and will not be any fracking .
I am sure under the present climate with respect to fracking you would appreciate that any mention or associating of this method of recovery is detrimental to a company’s business profile .
UKOG have worked hard over the last 5 years against this sort of prejudice and the laboured reality of our countries OGA and Planning procedures to help bring oil to the surface for the benefit of not only its shareholders but a beleaguered UK economy that will potentially gain from the fruits of their endeavour.
A better article would be to investigate what UKOG and others are actually doing in the weald and potentially encourage Government to embrace this fact.
I would appreciate a reply to this email as confirmation my complaint is registered under relevant procedures and potentially a retraction of the article
Thank you for your time.
