That's right kievsky but the point is that they will be funding something that they have some confidence in the price rising significantly. Clearly GR and the advisers are very confident in a positive outcome! Have to admit that I thought the price would plummet back to 3 or 4 after the selling began on Monday. It's actually held up pretty well.

Can't believe that I'm doing this but... the move to fund a DFS is a positive move (long overdue). I guess the new advisers have told GR that he can't get anywhere with his main asset until that's done. The terms of the funding are predicated on the sp increasing (substantially!!) which, if you've been involved in PREM for the last few years, is a complete change... fundraising in the past has always been on poor terms and has dragged the price down. It certainly feels different this time. The drop in sp this week, I think, is due to folks expecting different news altogether and being disappointed about that. GR usually manages to persuade someone to do an interview with him after this kind of news... for once, I'd be keen to hear what he has to say. I suspect that his dithering over Zulu has not impressed the Zim gov't and that progress with the DFS can only help in getting the EPO (and, potentially, sorting out RHA. The US angle is a positive one for the sp as well.
Having said all that, I'd rather have someone else running PREM!

I wasn't taken in by all the hype last week but have to confess that I saw a little chink of light on Monday... the DFS should've been done years ago and I see that as the key to realising some of the potential of the assets. OK, it will be some time away before we get the results but, be assured, GR is likely to leak anything positive (maybe some more photos of some mineral on his head!). Anyway, getting back to the matter in hand... I think you're right ceo... the price will drop. I think the rise is dependent on whether anyone will give GR the money.

Thanks Rylander - yes, there's not a lot of info about. I think the rise in sp is on the back of the mini update last week and the expectation of more good news next week when the results are made available. Some more positive info regarding current and future trading might be forthcoming as well?

Hey everyone - I'm new here. This caught my eye last week. I was looking for something to diversify my portfolio further. This seems to be a recovery play - new team in place with some promising signs so far. Anyone willing to share their views on it's potential?

Here's my take on PREM - GR should've been ousted years ago. He has been the problem for as long as I've been interested in PREM. The assets are a different matter - huge potential especially with Zulu. All the speculation last week was a bit wild but he has needed to do something concrete... today's move is a positive move in my book.

Hey Acker - this out of character for me but I'm going to compliment GR with this statement... he knows how Zimbabwe works! Clearly there's been some obstacle to getting the EPO granted - I think he now knows how to get round that obstacle. Quite apart from the EPO, I'm thinking that the conditions to progress Zulu are much more favourable.

I was so tempted to post last week to give everyone the benefit of my experience of GR over the years... suffice to say that I'm not a fan! Have to say that I expected either no RNS at all or a further issue of shares!
OK - it's a fundraise but not in the way that GR usually does it... very interesting! And have you had a look at the terms... very, very interesting! And they've gone to the US... even more interesting!
I wonder if the EPO is "imminent" if GR can show the Zim gov't that he has the funds.

Never fails to surprise... could this finally, finally, finally be the start of old GR realising the potential of some of these assets?

Well... the bears are out for the last 24 hours.... lots of comments about "not for the feint-hearted", "very risky", "it's a pure gamble".... mmmmm????? Don't accept any of that and these guys are simply attempting to raise doubt in your mind.
Rahul has a clear, reasonable (conservative) and achievable plan... he has money in the bank so he doesn't have to accept whatever the bondholders want and is in a good position to negotiate better terms. Vaccinations are ramping up, the world economy is waking up, the poo is way higher than he or any of us expected and has potential to move up further... it's all looking good! If ever there was a recovery play, this is it.
I'd suggest that there's a bit of a battle going on between those bondholders who want to get TLW on the cheap, shorters who want a lower sp and Rahul & team. Lots of games being played.... the fact that Rahul and Les did the call the other day was a surprise and seemed more like a message to those on the dark side, making it public that they don't have to accept any old deal. Don't believe the naysayers... keep the faith... don't sell!

Disagree Sageman - the level of shorts and the fact that Odey have increased their position so recently and at a lower price affects sentiment, especially when we're all thinking that they should be closing, and will encourage some potential investors not to invest and some to open shorts. Whether they've played this right or not is a different matter altogether. If all those shorts close in the next month or so then you'll see a significant increase in the sp from here... they undoubtedly matter!

uinoil - I've no doubt that there is an active campaign to suppress the sp to allow shorters to exit their positions and that's why we've not seen a jump.

Granted that there are other factors in setting hedges but it does appear that Rahul and team have got a robust plan, boosted by the poo and the asset sales so, on the face of it, you might expect the level of shorts to close. I suspect they'll be closing over the next few weeks and, in the meantime, I wouldn't expect to see the sp rocket quite yet - if they're the only major players in the market then I guess they've got the means to close their positions in a managed way. The next few weeks will be very interesting!!!

Yep... very positive. Rahul has a conservative plan to deliver but is in a strong position in negotiating the re-profiling of debt. TLW is in very good hands!

I agree dogstar - they must have more to talk about than just this deal so there could be an RNS tomorrow about who knows what!
With the RBL result now being detailed with the March update, there doesn't appear to be any rush or panic that some may have suggested. Very positive news indeed.

Surely, as a lender, bullmarket, you want to be assured that TLW can repay the debt... is that more or less likely with the poo sitting at $60?
